Thread: Greetings and a question =)

First I want to say hi to everybody, been lurking for a week or so. i've begun to read exploring the world of lucid dreaming, and am about to begin recording my dreams.

while reading the book, i began to wonder if it was possible to become addicted to lucid dreaming. for example, instead of partaking in other hobbies, LDers spend more time sleeping, perhaps interfering with other activites. LaBerge did not spend much time on the subject, and i'm curious to see if anyone here can share some experiences/knowledge.

I became addicted at one point when I was younger. A kid who wants to go to bed, my parents couldn't understand it . It got to the point where I could have more fun being asleep. I did grow out of it though. Or maybe just with starting work and having kids at an early age, I just didnt and still dont sleep like I used to.

At least for some of us, it's more probable to get addicted to this site than it is to lucid dreaming. However, I do love sleep. Don't we all

Hey there, welceom to Dream Views. Its a fun place to be. I dont think any stable person can become addicted to Lucid Dreaming. If they do, it woulndt be lucid dreaming's fault. That person may very well beocme addicted to Tv or books or vidoe games to escape thier world.

i love lucid dreaming, but after nine hours of sleep i'm ready to get up and do something in the 'real' world. i've found its hard to fall back into a dream after a certain point anyway. the human body isn't designed to be asleep more than it is awake, so you probably couldn't get addicted to sleeping even if you were so inclined.

if you are levelheaded enough to ask this question and be concerned, you have nothing to worry about

I love lucid dreaming more than most things, but I'm just so undisciplined, I hardly get enough sleep for it, just because I'm not an 'early to bed person.' That's about the extent of its addictiveness with me, personally.
