I'm new, just a little about me and my dream history

My name is Melissa. I am 20 years old. I found this site searching Yahoo! for dream topics. A dream I had the other night compelled me to look it up. Originally i was looking for what you call false awakenings, instead found this website.

In my dream I "woke up" from a bad dream (I don't remember it, only that a male figure was threatning me). When I awoke I looked out the window to show myself that I was awake now and had nothing to worry about. In my driveway, I found a friend's truck. I knew they weren't there and knew i was still dreaming. Since my last dream scared me, i just wanted to be awake, for real. As I know that a bucket of water wakes someone up, in my dream, I jumped in a cold shower, clothes still on. After I was freezing, still asleep and scared, I decided that if I did something bad, i might wake up. After hurting someone really bad, i still couldn't wake up. The only way I could explain it was that i felt stuck. Needless to say I eventually awoke but was still scared.

This is not my first lucid dream and i can remember a few others. When i was younger, my mom told me to control my dreams (i used to have many bad dreams and she was tired of me waking her up). Since then, i have had many lucid dreams. I never knew that other people had them, just figured I was over thinking to the point I couldn't let my mind wonder. As was the case in one dream when i was on the bus (first day of school) and knew i was dreaming solely because i couldn't remember what had happened in August (which made sense because it was only July in reality)

I hope to gain a larger sense of the dream world and by the looks of this site, I have come to the right place. I look forward to our future messages.
      ~Mel~

      Hey There !
False awakenings are usually when I have my weirdest lucids. Getting familiar
with your dreaming self helps turn those into fantastic experiences.
Read the tutorials and please feel free to ask ANY questions. Also check all
the threads in Lucid Experiances and all the other topics. You'll find that
alot of your questions might already be being discussed.
      Enjoy ! RC.

Hello False awakenings are gute odd, liek RCarter said. I have only experienced a few, but i have found them to quite confusing. You should read up on the forum and practice some lucidity techniques. It coudl give you more power to wake yourslef up in a false awakening.
