Hi everyone,

My name is Sara and, by chance or fate, I found this website earlier this afternoon. I've been very involved in both experiencing and interpreting powerful dreams for as long as I can remember; it's only been recently, as my dreams have increased both in number and lasting impression, that I've thought to seek out others who dream so vividly.

I haven't always been aware of the term "lucid dreaming", though I've been experiencing lucid dreams since I was a child. (I'm 22 now.) During high school and throughout most of college I routinely dreamt of being pressed into my bed by an unseen weight, the force of which would dissipate if only I moved a finger, a toe, anything. At first it felt like the weight of the world on my body, and for years (literally) I couldn't do anything but lie and wait for the strange, unsettling feeling to leave. Then suddenly I realized I could exert an incredible amount of mental control to move a part of my body, and the sensation would lift as soon as it had appeared. When this happened, I started doing research and the closest I could come to explaining the phenomenon was through lucid dreaming.

I've learned I can also control the most random of dreams, changing the faces of people I encounter to fit my whims or even altering my surroundings. Also, many times I'll realize I'm dreaming at the very end of a dream, but instead of the dream ending instantly, I've been able to prolong my waking so everything in the dream slows down. I find an incredible peace in the place between sleep and awake and, though I've tried to explain this to my friends, they never quite understand - perhaps someone else has experienced any of these sensations?

I'm also curious to know how many of you find your dreams greatly affected by the moon. Despite my decades-long fascination with the moon, its correspondence to my dream cycle is just now revealing itself to me, and I couldn't be more excited to see what it holds in store.

I'm so glad I stumbled on this website, and I'm really looking forward to getting to know you and hopefully growing as a lucid dreamer. :-) Have a wonderful night, everyone!
