      Hey, I've been reading...

I started reading up on lucid dreaming when I realised how much I enjoyed normal dreaming. So I decided to begin.
I started two nights ago with my first lucid dreaming program... I did the WBTB technique followed by WILD which didnt really help much. I did dream but I didn't realise it was a dream until waking up.
My second attempt was using HILD technique. It was successful in some ways. It reminded me to do a quick RC even though I was in a totally different place. I found myself in a black room almost completely dark. I could see maybe 3 feet in front of me. I did the nose RC and that's when I resliased I was a dream. At that point I felt really tired, and seeminglt gave up trying to dream. I don't remember any other dreams from then til morning. The dream seems like quite a fuzzy memory to me though and I don't remember thinking it was very real. Maybe I was just tired...

Anyway, tonight I'm going to hope I can catch a few seconds of lucidity again using HILD and I'll attempt dream spinning.

If anyone has any tips for me from what I've written I will really appreciate it =]

      Thanks,
      Craig

      welcome to the DV forums!!

Carefull, there are some people on here that are total jerks . Just keep doing the HILD method if it works for you, some things work better than others!

      Good luck,

      Rob

wow, congratulations on your success already. it sounds like you're on the right track.

      i'd definitely try spinning..

oh, and when i first started having lucids, i had quite a few that were black, or dimly lit. if you find yourself in a dream without adequate light, perhaps try 'reaching in your pocket" expecting to find a lighter. works like a charm for me, and provides instant light.

other than that, keep on trying

(oh, and i don't know what negative experience magicrules may have had , but 99% of people here are really helpful...)

      Re: Hey, I've been reading...

      Welcome Kreigu!

Just because a technique doesn't work once, don't necessarily knock it, but if you have found something that seems to be working, then keep going with it... well, that was fairly obvious. Just keep it up.

If you have any other questions for us let us know. We Dream Guides and the moderators are also always willing to help you out. ...And there aren't very many members who I would consider a problem. This is a great place to be.
