      Wondering

      Hey everyone,

I'm obviously new to this forum, but it really seems like you all know what you're doing and I'm extremely impressed with this site overall. Anyway, for a few years now I have been repressing my dreams. I was experiencing some very terrifying and horrific dreams and could not take it anymore. Now what I was wondering, was that with all of this repression, meaning I haven't remembered more than two dreams in the past few years, will I ever be able to experience, or revitalize my dream remembering capabilities?
      I think; therefore I am.

Hey there and welcome to the forum!
The answer to that is yes, you can. The best way to start is to begin a Dream Journal, and write as much in it as you can, even if it means waking up in the middle of the night.
And the solution to your nightmares is to become Lucid. Knowing it is only a dream, and nothing can really harm you really helps you out a lot.. I suggest looking at some of the tutorials.

      Welcome to Dream Views, Azul.

Absolutely. It's as easy as setting aside the time and effort to get better at it. I'd suggest starting up a journal and beginning to read as much info as you can come across.

Hope this helps, and if you have any more questions, ask away.

Thanks a lot for the responses.

I know all about Dream Journals/Recall and such. It was a thing I heavily practiced before I was getting the nightmares. I was into the whole astral travel thing, and that was just toning it or something like that, I just remember that I was told to do it. Anyway, square one, as fun as it sounds looks like its the path I need to go on. Thanks again for the advice, and I'll be on the forums a lot, since I have no life, and will be puttin in my input as necessary.

I did the same thing as you I got tired of seeing the horrible things I dreamed and started trying to repress them too. I was able to do it for a while. When I was ready to face them or in my case mature enough to face them I was able to jump back in pretty quickly. Its all about what you really want to do.
