      Heart Racing attempting First WILD

Well, I woke up after a dream after about 4 hours of sleep. Good I said, now's my chance to try some WILD. So I just thought about all the details of my previous dream for an hour or so thinking about dream signs.

I began to move around less and felt myself settling in for some more sleep. I started to hear a few auditory things and a few sort of day dreams drifted in and out of my mind. So I did my meditation breathing and sure enough I started to feel sleep paralysis kicking in and it felt like I was sinking in to the mattress.

I tried one or two times to 'get up out of my body' it didn't work but felt a bit strange at this point it felt as though I was slipping deeper into a dream or something.

Then my heart rate severely jumped and raced. I mean it went from the level of deep relaxation/meditation breathing to like I had just sprinted 100 yards. Unfortunately this through me off my game and I snapped out of my previous state.

Is this norma? Could it have been just excitement or the 'vibrations' i hear people talk about?

This is my first time attempting WILD, but I do meditate in the Zazen tradition which I was not surprised was recommended in the tutorial on WILD. Because I had already trained my brain a bit to be in this open book kind of state I was expecting it to be a bit easier to WILD, and I feel like I got very close.

Well after reading some other threads I see this is normal. I'm kind of surprised I got that far on my first try at it ever...

I've tried WILD a few times with varied results but no lucids.

Once I began to feel SP setting in, it felt as though my face had gone numb and my lips felt really heavy.

Another time I started to feel vibrations :vibes: and felt as though I was being dragged along but I got overly excited by it and woke myself up totally , my heart was beating really fast after that one.
      The Sandman is near.

Yeah, my first two (half decent) attempts at WILDs ended with a racing heart. I just did one last night, and I really think knowing what to expect helps control your heartrate. I was still a little jittery, but not enough to prevent an LD. :D

If you're like me, just try it a few more times and it'll be second nature.
"Speaking of which, did you find out about the you-know-what in your toolshed? As in, a name?"

"No, the dead body in my you-know-what is still a mystery."

I plan on it, since I often wake up after a 3 hour sleep cycle.
