Thread: Was I dreaming or not?

Okay so last night I had a very strange dream. *My mom passed away last February and of course I went to bed thinking about her. *I remember it being about 1:50 am when iI layed down. My boyfriend and my 4 year old daughter were in the bed with me before I starting dreaming. *When I went into this dream only my daughter and I were in th bed. I then all of a sudden felt paralyzed. I was trying to wake up and I couldnt. *I remember *getting out of bed in my dream and trying to turn on the light in my room but it blew out. I then went into another room and tried to turn on a light and it wouldnt turn on. It was pitch black and no lights would turn on. *After I went to my front door and unlocked it. I went to open it but something was pulling me away from the door. I finally went onto my porch and my hair was all in my face and my face was wet. I tryed to see but the street was all blurry. Then I remember me being back in bed still fighting to wake up. *I had something in my hands and I threw it while being in my bed. I finally woke up and I felt so tired but I was unable to breath well and my legs felt like I couldnt move them. About 2 min later I got up turned to the clock it was only 2:23 am. I got up turned the light on and went to the front door. It was unlocked. I went to sleep before with it locked. So this was strange. *I started cryin. I cryed for a while when I stoped I turned on the living room light because I was scared. So I *went back to bed . When I woke up in the morning to go to work all the lights in the house were turned on and both the front and the back door were unlocked. It was also freezing in my house I could see my breath. *I am totally confused and could you some advice to find out whats going on. Thanks

Hey there, and welcome to the forum.
What you had sounds like a form of Sleep Paralysis, an event which usually happens during REM sleep, but some people can wake up in it, and can oftentimes, get scared from it. SP, however, cannot hurt you...just remember that.
