      One month Test

Some of my friends are unsure about lucid dreaming/dream control. I have not had a lucid dream that i have remembered yet but i definetly believe that it is possible. Staring tonight i am going to be going to sleep around 11pm-12pm and will be waking myself up to record my dream at around 3pm. Is 3 hrs enough to have a dream that i will be able to remember when i wake up? Also, my main question was...Should i be able to have my first lucid dream that i can remember within a month if i follow my schedule of waking up and recording my dreams? I made a small bet with my friends that i would have one before March 10th. Wish me luck and leave any tips or comments that u feel like! Also feel free to add me to AIM. My AIM name is the same as my name on here. Thanks for all of your help!

It's possible much sooner than a month--read constantly during your waking hours non-stop about lucid dreaming (anything lucid dreaming related), so that you are constantly thinking about it. Write in a dream journal religiously. Get in the habit of doing reality checks non-stop. You can probably do it in under two weeks (using the WILD technique I had three in the first week, but none since then).

I've heard that 5-6 hours is the best time for lucid dreaming, etc because that is when the REM cycles tend to be the longest.
I have been trying to have an LD for about 2 weeks, and I have noticed a MASSIVE increase in dream recall, and have had two lucid dreams. I guess it depends on your life style, and the motivation you are willing to give, etc.
I would go over to the tutorial section of the forums, as there are many different techneques you can learn.

None since the first week? Out of curiosity, how long have you been trying?

A week and a half or so, maybe two. I have been pretty busy with school work though and have lost my focus somewhat.

Hah, I was picturing you saying like a year or something! That is funny, I have been trying for a few weeks now with no luck. Thats pretty cool how much success you have had.

How much time throughout the day (on average) would you say you spend thinking solely about lucid dreaming?

You know, the best way to get your friends to believe that lucid dreams actually occur would be to just show them this site and the number of people here that have in fact experienced lucidity. You can't deny the word of several thousand people.

And as for having an LD, just relax about it. Write in your DJ, work on reality checking, but don't get stressed out if it doesn't happen right away. It took me three weeks, but trust me, whenever it happens it will be worth it

      yes i know

umm well since i just discovered this awesome site about 2 days ago, i have been thinking about it almost constantly. I go on during school whenever i can to read more about lucid dreaming. I realize that it may take weeks before having my lucid dream but to me thats fine. Good things cant be rushed into!!! Once again, thanks for all of the help!

I do, but that's not the point. Moving back on topic.

Have you managed anything yet, JD?

well i only heard about LD and dream control about 3 or 4 days agao. When i started i had not remembered a dream since i was about 12 or 13. I am now almost 18 so its been quite awhile. So since ive started i have managed to get usually 2 dreams recorded each night. So i guess i have improved...but i still do not remember any lucid dreams. I will keep practice and keep you informed!
