Induce a dream using the Simpsons!

I have been trying to WILD for a while now but have been finding it very hard to keep focused without falling asleep.

Last night I thought I'd have a nap when I got in from work and I decided to try something different.
I put the simpsons on my T.V, turned the volume down until I could barely hear it and then I began trying to WILD.
I was hearing what was being said on the T.V and visualising it in my head which really helped me to stay focused.
At one point I felt this deep sense of relaxation and I began to feel some muscle twitches.
Then I began to hear scratching at my bedroom door and I started to fell vibrations.
The programmee changed to something that I couldn't really visualise and at that point I fell asleep.

      I then had an F/A!
I woke up in my room to the sound of that creepy voice from the lucid induction MP3 that is mentioned else where on this site, it was playinig on my stereo and I still didn't get lucid, I think the noise from the t.v came across as the mp3 in my dream.
I realised that the stereo was completely different to mine and was really large and ugly, I thought to myself when did I buy that piece of crap and I still didn't get lucid, despite the fact that I dont even have my stereo set up at the moment.
That is all I can remember of it.
I feel that I am getting closer to being able to induce an LD, might try the same method with a feature film like shark tales or something to give me a bit more time to get there.

That's very similar to what I have done before, except I've just fallen asleep whilst the TV is still on ( not trying to become lucid, just generally falling asleep.) It's really strange though, your dreams seem to be changed and influenced HEAVILY by what is being said or what the programme is

Yes they are. Its kinda like what is being said makes a script for my dream.

I once had a dream whilst my girl friend was awatching the bill.

I had a dream all about criminals and the police and it was almost identical, or so my g/f said to waht happened on the programme, very weird.

Can't wait to try it again tonight!

      P.S

Its good to see some more brits on here.

If you induced a lucid dream using a porno, would you have a chiefly sex-oriented dream?

i've always wondered. do most brits like monty python, or do they get irritated when people assume that? the same way some canadians hate when everyone assumes they live in igloos and say 'eh' constantly, or some americans hate it when everyone assumes they are red-neck war mongers with a superiority complex, or germans hate the hitler jokes...

That's stereotypes for ya. I find Monty Python funny but I have seen like...one lol

I don't know many people who do...stereotypes annoy me lol although i find it extremely funny to see british people percieved as all posh and drinking tea lol. Most of us are pretty common. Although, admitedly, I do drink tea lol

That soundsl ike a very good idea.
Think I'll have to try that some time.
Only thing is that you run the risk of someone walking in on you whilst your asleep and have a porno on the T.V.

It is a stereo type, although I do know alot of people who do like monty python, mainly the older generations though. I take no offence at it although I'm sure some would.
a more accurate stereotype is that we all like eastenders and coronation street, and drink tea whilst watching these after our supper of fish and chips wrapped in newspaper!

By the way, house the War going?

I've tried and tried to train myself to fall asleep to music, but if there's anything with a clear beat to it, my mind just tends to focus on it and I can't fall asleep. I'm involved in music (band/choir), so rhythm and so forth are very prominent in my life. I can even get lost in the rhythm of my footsteps and how they differ from others'. Ugh. Also, certain electrical devices keep me awake: the high-pitched whine of the TV or the whirring of my piece-o-crap compuer.

Now, did you start falling asleep at the beginning of the show or in the middle of it? I'd think the commercials would screw things up, but maybe not. At any rate, good luck with further trials!

Yeah, the same thing has happend to me. One time I fell asleep while watching one of the Nightmare On Elm Street movies and I had a nightmare of Freddy while the movie was still playing. A friend of mine woke me up and I told him a had just had a nighmare on that movie. I taught it was because of the movie playing and I was capable of listening to it while sleeping. What really helps me dream is Pink Floyd. Probably because its psychedelic music.

The programme had started before I fell to sleep.
I tried it the following night with another programme but didn't have much luck.
I think the reason the simpsons seemed to work for me was because of how simple their speech is, if your not listening properly you can quite easily distort what is being said to suit you, also I think cartoons are probably easier to visualise than a normal programme as they are less complex.

People snoring keeps me from sleeping lol, so I started wearing ear plugs, problem is : I got so used to having them to sleep it has become a habbit; so now, even when I am alone, every little noise stops me sleeping, meaning that i now constantly wear ear plugs to bed...damn body getting used to things >_<
