Whoah. It's That Weird High-School Girl. The Penguiny-One.

Yup. That's me. I just found this forum about 2 minutes ago, and thought it was wicked awesome, and registered.

I'm 15 and am a freshman in high-school. (Whoot for Frosh!) Anyway, I think I can honestly say that I can never recall having a lucid dream. Which sucks.

So basically, I'm here to learn, and make friends along the way.

      So...hi, I'm Courtney. Whoot. How're you today?

      I. Love. Penguins.

But not quite as much as squirrels...

I've never really had a fond spot for squirrels. Jittery little things they are. lol.

You guys have cool smilies too. I just thought I'd point that out. I'm a real fan of the dancing banana man.

There's a member here called "idontknow" that has a dancing banana/pepper/carrot-thing for an avatar. I'm sure you'll see it around.

I love being weird. Anyway. I've heard about an "Adoption" program thing on this forum. Anyone know where that takes place?

(Well...actually now that I think about it. everyone would probably know. Or almost everyone...)

<<for those who do not know. That is the look of Shame and Demise. (Inside joke between my friend and i)

I hope you don't mind crazy freshman here.

You have to be a member here for two weeks before being able to apply for adoption. There is an adoption forum that you can go to for more info.

Lol, thank you. Being abnormal is just so much fun. But then again, I'm barely 15 and caffinated (sp?) right now.

Caffeinated? Oh sweet euphoria ... and that comes from a 20 year-old coffee drinker.

As for being wierd, that's nothing. Everyone here on this site has a quirky side, and for the most part we were (almost) all freshmen at one point in time. I've gone through the experience twice, once at 14/15, and the second at 18/19. So... yah.

Anyway, light banter aside, we're really glad that you joined up and don't worry about not having had an LD before. A lot of people haven't and I can only recall one instance where I was even remotely lucid before joining this site. Let us know if we can help in any way! Sweet lucid dreams!

      -Amé

P.S. My twin sister's name is Courtenay. It's pronounced just the same, tho.

      Ahoy there, Courtney!

I'm new as well and I've never experienced a lucid dream either. So don't feel too bad.

However, ever since I've joined here (which was a week ago), the number of dreams I've been having has shot up significantly. I'll probably have my first lucid dream any day now.

      Anyway, welcome aboard.

You guys are wicked awesome. And I just noticed that this is a very caffinated looking smiley: I think he should be my little mascot.

Anywho, where would you guys suggest a beginner check out first. Some of the boards, or a tutorial or something on the site?

Courtenay is pretty sweet. There's so many spellings, it's wicked. I've seen Kortnie, Kourtney, Corteney.

Anyway, you guys are freaking awesome! Thanks for the welcome/help. I've gotta go type a research paper. (oh joy... ) That's one thing I'd rather not have dreams about.

Ok, I'm sorry...I just have to share this, it's a quote from my Dream Journal. I feel really stupid for not noticing SOMETHING was wrong in this dream of mine.

Oh, and here's the part when I hit myself on the head and say "Why couldn't I have gone lucid?! I should have noticed something was wrong! Because, here...get ready to laugh: There was a large, green FLYING tennis/badmitton racket. *

Here's where it gets pretty bad: My friend...dug his drugs back up, and flew away on the giant green tennis racket. I am dead serious. In my dream, I was crying because he left and said he'd never come back. [/b]
That's just a piece of it. But I feel really stupid now, for not being able to recognize that a FLYING GREEN TENNIS RACKET wouldn't really be there in the real world. Gaaah!

Lol, yeah, our dreaming selves are such idiots. Just a few nights ago i managed not to realize I was dreaming after saying goodbye to my cousin and wishing him luck on HIS lucid dreaming, and then proceding to leave my own house by jumping through a small warp portal. (¤_¤')

Beef.... Jerky..... okay. Well, it's good to know that you changed your name or I would have been completely lost!

And, Courtney, I'm from Oregon, too! I'm in Montana going to school though. *Willy Wonka voice* "I never thought we'd have so much in common."

And don't worry about those obvious dream signs. I've tried WILDing in my dreams and didn't become lucid, twice. I've had conversations with people about lucidity and have thought to myself, "This is what I would do if I was lucid." And just last night, my oldest brother and sister and then eventually me were turning into vampires. Not bad ones, but just with the whole teeth thing. And I tried "gliding" on some kind of... I don't know what it was. Imagine those fold-up chairs that people use a lot at sports games and waiting in line for movie midnight showings, just upside down... It didn't work too well.

So don't feel bad. You'll get it
