      Trying to Lucid Dream

Well, its pretty late and i'm bored.

I'm gonna try to Lucid Dream tonight. I doubt I'll get it though because I've never tried before. I had a lucid dream once when I was a kid though. Something about Scooby Doo and I was helping them find a monster. Anyways as I said, I'm bored, so I've been reading alot of posts on here, and a couple dream journals. All this sounds pretty cool, and I think I wanna try to trying doing it.

Actually the real reason I made this post was to see if my sig worked.

Well if by luck I have a lucid dream, I'm sure I'll hop on here and post somethin.

eh, I don't remember having any dreams...

But I think I DID almost do a WILD. I was laying in bed trying to go to sleep. I was thinking about this video game I've been playing alot, Killzone. (its some futuristic army game) So I was thinking about it, and i guess I started dreaming playing it in my head, actually IN the game, not just sitting in my chair and playing it. I went to throw a grenade but I couldn't for some reason. And then I realized it was a dream. The dream only lasted for a second after that because (I still wanted to throw the grenade) there was a bad guy in front of me, and my left index finger twitched (trying to press L1) and I broke sleep paralysis. I was kinda disappointed. But at the same time, if that WAS a WILD, that'd be pretty cool that I almost got it on the first try.

      ah well.
I'm going downstairs to cook me up a bacon egg and cheese sandwich.
      mmmmm.... 8)

Sounds to me like you were in the beginning stages of WILD, and possibly low-level lucid. Perhaps you got too excited by the dreamscape and woke up...

Here's a piece of advice for you: if you start out with the idea that if probably won't work, then it probably won't. Your subconscious mind picks up on those kind of doubts, and turns them into reality pretty easily. One of the most important things you can do to ensure success is to have confidence. So next time, say "I know I'm going to have a lucid dream tonight -- doesn't matter that I've never tried before!"

Of course, it's entirely possible that you still won't, but don't let that get you upset or frustrated. Just say to yourself "no big deal, there's always tomorrow night." Getting stressed out will only make it that much more difficult to have lucid dreams, or even recall your regular dreams.
