Hey there and welcome to the forum!!
Those are Novadreamers, which 100% make you LD. We don't talk about them much b/c most of us don't have $600 to cough up.
If you keep a Dream Journal, you should be able to recall your dreams a lot better. And if you take a look at the tutorials section, that should help a lot too!!
Also, many of us are born naturally w/it, while the others learn from them. So that is why many of us can do them...
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!!

Whuddup, Joe? Welcome to Dream Views.

First off, the most important thing about learning to LD is, without a doubt, Patience.
Many people get discouraged if they don't start seeing results immediately, but lucid dreaming is a psychological process, and while it comes easy for some, it takes a little time for others.
That said, I agree that a dream journal is probably your best bet to a good start. You have the right idea about waking up a little bit early to recall dreams, though, remember, that is a preference, and it's not necessary. It does help, though. You can go online and look up REM cycles and find out how they space themselves out through the night, and find a routine that's best for you.
As enthusiastic as you are, I don't think you'll have too much trouble recalling your dreams once you get started, and you'll be more attentive to finding dream signs, which will help you. Remember, even if you decide to wake up early to recall dreams, try to get your full night's sleep, ultimately, because REM cycles get longer as the night goes on, and if you only end up getting like 5 hours sleep, and can't go back to sleep, you'll start depriving yourself of them.

If you have any other questions, like nes said, ask away.

Try to wake yourself up in the morning without an alarm clock. This could take a bit of practice, but it seems much more effective because it is much more natural than an alarm clock set to go off at 3am, and it is more likely to be during/after a REM period.

Like somebody else said, patience is definately the key. You can try everything as much as you want, that is a good thing to do in fact..... Just don't get discouraged when you can't do it right away. It took me about 2-3 months to go from never remembering my dreams, to having 1 very short lucid dream.

If you stick with it, you'll be able to do it soon, I promise =D

Welcome to DV I'm glad that you're here and that you're... enthusiastic!

Anyway, your questions have been answered, but I thought I'd add that the main reason it's best to work on dream recall is so that (as has been said) you can look for dream signs, butr also so that when you actually become lucid you'll actually recall the dream. Nothing's more frustrating than having a lucid dream and not being able to remember it.... well, there are things more frustrating but you get my drift.

Anyway, let us know if we can do anything for you!
