      was i lucid last night?

well yesterday i came across this whole idea of lucid dreaming ive been reaserching it for a few hours yesterday and few more today and last night wile i was sleeping i was dreaming, i was jack baur from the show 24, anyway i thought wow this cant be real a lady with a machete would not be chasing me in real life so i was like well im going to try something so fake to see if im really dreaming and i jumped up like 12 feet and stuck to the cieling of a shed on the rafters, but i could not control anything exept that so i had basically no control over the dream so was i still lucid? normally i do not remember my dreams at all but after i layed awake in bed when i woke up i tryed to remember everything and remembered 2 full dreams with exact detail and wrote them down and visions from another one

Well, from that, it sounds to me like you were lucid. The definition of a lucid dream is one in which you realize you are dreaming while the dream is still taking place. You may or may not be able to control the dream, but that's not what defines it as being "lucid" or not.

      Sup, Rider? Welcome to DV.

Well it seems like you're off to a good start, but the question is: When you jumped up and stuck to the ceiling, did you realize "Wow! It worked! I'm dreaming!" 'Cause, if you did that, then you were lucid. It doesn't matter if you couldn't even control yourself enough to stay on the ceiling, and you fell back down and landed on your head. As long as you realized you were dreaming, you were lucid. Control usually comes with practice, but is not necessary for lucidity.

      Hope this helps, man.
