      Hey, I'm new.

Just like to say a big hello, really glad I found this place, no other subject intrigues me more than dreams, I believe I am a natural LD'r I have had many but none of recent,
one thing i would like to mention though is a dream I had not long ago which frightened me, I'm used to nightmares and used to generally enjoy them as I realised they were just that, a nightmare, anyway, I was in a room and aware of 3 others to the far side of the room, they were being sucked up by a being in the air and they were screaming, i thought to myself it was because they were bad, then the hovering figure came to beam me up from the chair on which i was sitting. this is where i got worried. I felt an unreal pain/heavy vibration on my chest as he was trying to lift me up, thats when i really thought oh my god this is serious Ive got to get out, and I fought to wake myself, I woke up feeling terrified as I couldn't justify that it was a dream.

Sorry for the long first post, just wondered if anyone else has experienced this?

Nice to find a site full of interesting people!

      Dave.

Hey there and welcome to the forum!!
What you are experiencing is called SP (Sleep Paralysis), and it is normal to feel the vibes on your chest during this time. In fact this can also be used to enter a WILD (Wake Induced Lucid Dream), and I actually find it fun!!
If you have any other questions, Dave, feel free to ask!

Another dream i shall share... I had this weird pain on my head, i was being attacked by wasps, ( I fear wasps!) I was trying to fight them all off. I woke up actually feeling pain from my head and could actually feel a lump! I thought nothing of it, and a couple of days later i was cleaning my room and found a dead wasp in my bed! I couldn't believe it!!!!
the damn thing actually stung my head!!! I must of felt it there and scratched! but it didn't wake me!

Crazy! I love dreams and often tell my girlfriend in great detail, she thinks i'm mad, yet she never remembers any of her dreams... I feel she is missing out!

      What's Going On?

Your first post about being sucked up. Have you asked yourself what has been going on in your life? What have you experienced lately? Or better, what was on the TV last night, possibly while you where asleep.
I find that if I sleep with the TV on I can sometimes explain my dreams (which are vivid) by what was playing on the TV. They are not exactly the same but close enough to explain "why I had this dream or why this dream went this way".
      Just a thought.

Maybe the fear of wasps is why you drempt about it. And sometimes if you leave your window open, a wasp can come in.
I remember one time when I was just sitting in the car, minding my own business w/the window open, playing my GBA SP, and suddenly, I feel this really sharp thing on my head. I look around to find I was sitting on a wasp, and it was dying, too.
That's okay that your gfriend doesn't really understand about your interests. Many of my friends don't show any interest in them (in fact, my parents don't either), but if they are true friends, they should accept you for who you are.

Welcome! If you want to talk about dreams you're in the right place.... obviously.

Anyway, also, with your first post, it sounded like something that has happened to a lot of people and many use the term "Old Hag" to describe it. A lot of people will wake up in Sleep Paralysis (as nesgirl said) and feel someone standing over them or something pressing on their chest or something along those lines. There are some posts around here if you want to look more into it.

And with the wasp, it was probably that you were in a deep sleep when you were stung. External stimuli will often appear in our dreams, so that was probably what happened. That's kind of funny, though!

Anyway, we're here if you have any questions, so just let us know. We're glad you're here!
