      Important Question/Poll about REM -->look

      Eirlyer i posted this in the wrong section so i cancled that post.

      Hey everyone i have been trying to find out when i am in my last REM cycle. I have been getting up 5-6 hours after sleep (via alarm) and trying to wake up when i am dreaming (during REM) so i can remember it perfectly...The problem is that i only did that one time (and that one time i had the best recall ever, even if i could jus recall all my dreams like that day i would be happy it so really cool, good dream too) Other then that, my alarm goes off at like 4 in morning or w/e (cuz i dont wake up naturally...well...most of them time) And i dont remember Anything really...then later after im awake (like 30minuteS...usually when im in shower) i remember one of my dreams. What i want people to do is tell me how long into sleep they do WBTB....Its really pissing me off (lastnight i had no recall wich really pissed me off) If everyone told me when they wake up to Do WBTB it could save me alot of experimenting time, bcuz ima try all your suggestions. Also, i know this off subject but i take a multivitamin in morning (i stoped taking my B complex cuz i heard it ruins dreams) But is the multi vitamin bad also? lol. ty for answers, get back thanks.

      On the contrary... from what I've heard the B vitamin should make your dreams a lot better!

      But at any rate, with practice, you can have a very good success rate in just TELLING yourself to wake up. If you have EWOLD, then refer to that. But the basic idea is to make sure you carry out your intentions and remember to. The distinction is that in the first one it's about doing what you say you will, and in the second one it's remembering to do it.

      So here are some exercises (they are in EWOLD).

      Make a list of four targets per day, monday through sunday. You do a reality check every time certain events occur. For example, monday can be "Everytime I hear a dog bark" "When I hear someone cough" "When I am really happy" and "When I smell food." Keep track if you missed your targets and such (EWOLD said you should get your targets the first time they occur).

      Another exercise is do a series of "useless" exercises to increase your intiative to do things. For example, say "I am going to walk across my room 20 times." Then, walk back and forth in your room 20 times. This should increase the usefullness of saying "I'm going to wake up at this time" Don't make promises to yourself that you won't be able to keep, but keep realistic promises.

      Then, when you go to sleep, combine the two skills and tell yourself "When I am in my last dream cycle, I will wake up and be concious." You can change the wording around to get the effect... but there's a chance you will wake up and go back to sleep, completely forgetting waking up.

      With practice, you can wake up within a short time of your desired set time, concious and awake enough to get outta bed. Though, it would be wise to keep a backup alarm (you can add that you would like to wake yourself up before the alarm in your mantra) so you won't get discouraged (thus losing the effect of this method... this method realizes on confidence).
