hmmm... well keep in mind that everyone has dreams, and a lot of them too. but maybe you are stressing over yourself. how long have you been trying? if you have only been trying for a short amount of time then its not long enough. it takes a while to remember your dreams for some people.

Well, start by thinking about dreaming while you are falling asleep. When you wake up, write things down in a dream journal. If you only remember seeing a color while you were sleeping, write it down. If it is only a sensation or a feeling, write it down. Eventually your mind will think about dreaming more and you will start to remember. Good Luck! Let us know how it goes.

oh ya i forgot to say that if when you wake up during the night, the first thing that comes to your head should be, "What was i dreaming?" its hard the first few times but it actually gets natural.

Hey there and welcome to the forum!!
The first thing you can do is keep a Dream Journal. Then write down whatever you remember, even if you are just laying there. Eventually, your recall should come back!!
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

My dream recall has improved since I started spending time looking at this website. Because I'm more aware and actively thinking about dreaming it is at the front of my mind, when I go to sleep and when I wake up.

I'd therefore advise you to read about others peoples experiences and just raise your general awareness. Also don't worry about it too much or give yourself a hard time. It's like anything in life - if you put too much pressure on yourself it's likely to be much more difficult. Good luck :happygolucky:

Another thing to do-it's really helped me.- is to tell yourself, your last waking thought- should be- "I will remember my dream" I've rememebered my dreams at least 1-2 per night, and I just started a week ago. Does wonders.

      Howdy fellow newbie.

I imagine others have suggested this elsewhere in the forums, but...

I always write down something like, "I did not recall any dreams" if I don't remember any. That helps to focus or keep your commitment to your dream journal and gets you physically involved in trying to recall dreams when you awake.

Don't write, "I didn't have any dreams" or "No dreams", because, of course, you had some dreams. You just didn't recall any.

ya i also found something called dream incubation very useful, where you sorta ask yourself a question before you go to bed, wether that be a personal or creative question, and then hopefully your brain will sub conciously come up with solutions to them. so then you know what to look for.

I normaly remember a dream if I'm woken up by something instead of my own will. Wake yourself up early in the morning (alarm clock), you may remember something, put it in your journal if you do, have a quick 2/3 hour snooze before you fully awake for the day. I'll normaly remember my dreams if I've woken up and then gone back to sleep almost straight after for a couple of hours.
