      Sensations experienced during lucidity

The other night I became lucid in my dream for the first time in awhile. I did it by looking at my hands. As soon as I did this, I felt a distinct popping/tingling sensation in my ears and a rush of energy that defies description. At that point, I was seeing both the dream world, it became slightly distorted, and the waking world. I awoke a few minutes later.

Has anyone else here experienced similar sensations when becoming lucid?

My favourite sensation was a feeling that my legs were "on fire" there was a beautiful warmth that enveloped them. I couldn't feel the hair (which I can assure you is quite copious and always noticed). The muscles were completely relaxed and my skin simply tingled. I have had this occur a few times however I credit most of this to sleep paralysis.

Although the realities of the dream and the real world meeting at a sort of point of convergance...the event horizon of the mind if you will...that is fascinating. I've had stimuli from the waking world get into my dreams before as I dreamt - my dog was kenneled in my room about 5 years ago and I distinctly remember that his barking became a very important part of my dream before I woke up.

These sorts of sensations are pure magic and should definitely be explored and hopefully attained on a basis of regularity.

yeah that's exactly what it was, a merging of the two worlds. The unconscious and conscious mind were both working together. Now I need to work on not letting the pure excitement of the lucidity wake me up.
