Sleep paralyses?I think i've had these from when i was young

Hi everyone. I've been reading alot on lucid dreaming recently and I am curious about "sleep paralyses". I think I experience this alot and let me explain what happens. Often times in the morning when i am about to wake up my mind wakes up before my body. Basically i know that i am awake but i can't move. I always freak out because i have had some scary experiences while in this state. I try to really hard and sometimes in a panic to wake myself up as i find it to be very uncomfortable. Often i will slip right back into the paralyses if i do not get up out of bed right away and have to force myself out of it. Sometimes i will slip back into it 5 or 6 times before waking up. Is this SLEEP PARALYSES and can i reach a lucid dream from this state? This happens almost weekly for me and sometimes more than 4 times a week. Many times i hear some really scary voices and once i've had some black creature attack me and hold me down in this state so i try really hard to wake myself up.
THANKS IN ADVANCE for any insight/suggestions.

      Hi, and Welcome to Dreamviews.

From your description, that sounds alot like Sleep Paralysis. Most people who have it report feeling those same things, the pressure like your being held down, voices, and being unable to move.

As for getting to a Lucid Dream from them, entering Sleep Paralysis is part of a stage in a Technique called WILD, and if you can remain calm during the Sleep Paralysis, im sure you can use it to finish of the WILD technique and enter directly into a Dream.

Doing that though, may not be too reliable until your able to control it, and come out of when you need to, so if your trying for a Lucid Dream, look through some of these Tutorials, and see if any of these may help you out more. The WILD and MILD technique seem to be the most popular for Lucid Dreamers, so i'd suggest definatly giving those a try at least once.

If you want more help, feel free to PM me or contact me on AIM, i'll be happy to help.

Hey there and welcome to the forum.
That is SP, and the best thing to do is to know that it is not going to hurt you, like LDing is not going to hurt you, and maybe even try to WILD, like Kastro187420 said.
