      My dreams are too vivid?

Ok, so after having a near lucid dream, for two nights in a row, I dind't have dreams... or so I thought. I kept thinking about them, but I came up with nothing, until it occured to me that something I thought was real was in fact a dream. The event that wa s"real" came up to me, and I thought and thought about them until I realized they were a dream... what is this?

      Firstly, welcome to the forum!

I'm sorry, but I didn't really understand your question, or what you experienced. You were sleeping and you realized you were dreaming? Or you realized while awake that something you thought actually happened, was actually only a dream? Sorry - maybe reword your question.

      Hey,

sorry for the cofusion lol.. I thought what happened in my dream actually happened in real life to me. . Until I clearly thought about it later on after I wake up like 5 hours later, I realized it was a dream (while awake and real life). ..

In all my dreams, i'm a younger version of myself, so they all seem like memories.

Ummm... hey, wow, now that you say this, I remember a few occaisions when this HAS happened to me over the years. It's not unusual, I guess... some dreams draw so closely on what's happened to you recently that they almost seem as if they DID happen, because they relate to real-life events so accurately, etc. Nothing much to worry about, I guess. It's not a vividness thing either, I don't think. It's more to do with dream content, and how close your dreams are to real life.

That's just my take, of course... and plus, I'm not exactly qualified or that experienced dream-wise...

Whoa... now this IS interesting. Why, I'm not exactly sure, but I find this interesting nonetheless.

A suggestion: perhaps you should post some of your dreams in the "Dream Interpretation" sub-forum, in a new thread, specifically the ones in which you are "a younger version of yourself"... I reckon this is quite fascinating, I'd like to see what other people make of this...?

Ok, now I understand! Haha, sorry bout that.

I've also experienced this. A few times, in my waking life I'll go to tell someone about something that happened, then I'll pause and really have to think back and ask myself if I just dreamed it. It's freaky weird.

Sometimes dreams can be so realistic that you just accept them as something that actually happened to you, even after waking up. It's hard for your mind to differentiate the two states. I guess that only thing you could really do was try to do more reality checks in waking life, and therefore hopefully do them while dreaming.

Some memories you've had for years about certain events could have not actually taken place in waking life, but were actually dreams that implanted the experience and you've just accepted it as something that actually happened in your life because you've always had the memory, when it fact it occured only in a dream.

      Just a thought.

Welcome to the forum! I have also had a couple of instances in which this very thing happened to me. It is really strange, I know. In both cases, I was dissapointed upon realising these things had been dreams.

I know what you are talking about.

Sme of my "memories" are so alien that I'm not sure if the are dream or memories. It is a feeling that I enjoy, because they are so peaceful.

Funny. This reminded of a particular memory. When I was about 5 years old, I had this "girlfriend" (obviously, this was just a name we'd agreed upon, like I said, we were 5), and I remember some specific moments where I was talking with her.
The thing is. I really don't remember playing with her at all as a kid apart from these few memories, which makes no sense at all.
This has made me think it might just have been a dream (or multiple dreams) that I once had, and to this day, I'm not sure whether these memories are from waking life or from my sleep.

      Hope that made sense... O.o
      A dream
is a reality that others cannot see.
      Reality
is a dream you share with others.
