      Hey, LilyStar.
I hope your time here is fun and peaceful.
I find that dream interpretation is best if you just go on feeling, what did it make you feel. You can make the meaning of your dream up anyway, we do that in waking life too. We make it all up. Anyway, if you want your dream to mean that you are a wonderful person then just decide that is what it means and then start feeling that you are a wonderful person or what ever you choose.
Have a wonderful time, you sound really interesting I hope to hear more from you.
      Peace and Love

You have definately come to the right place. Welcome to Dreamviews. If you need any help, questions, or anything else, just contact me or another dream guide. As for your dream, I am no good at dream interpretation unfortunately. Mine aren't hard to interpret but when it comes to others' dreams, I am not good. You might want to post that on interpretation.

      Re: Thanks

Hey, if you haven't already, post in the dream interpretation subforum and me or someone else will see what we can make of your dream...

Also, as far as dream dictionaries go (and this is just my opinion) I don't put too much faith in them. Interpreting dreams isn't a science... It's more approximate and totally subjective to the dreamer, and as such, dictionaries really aren't of all that much use, cept in a few special cases... meh... that's just my thoughts.

EDIT: My apologies. I see you've already posted in the dream interpretation subforum. My bad!

Listen, lilly, Drugs are very unhealthy for your body, any sort of drug or medicine. I wouldn't suggest sleeping pills for anyone. Problems with sleep usually arise from the person not feeling fully relaxed in them selves, repressed emotions, fears. Drugs on all accounts simply repess and hide more of that stuff.
It doesn't really matter what you do, you have free will and in the end we can't get hurt in this life, it is all illusions. However I would suggest not TRYING to sleep. The harder you push the less you are likely to fall asleep. You should spend some time doing exercise in the day and eating fresh fruit and drinking lots of water (that stuff just helps your mind to become more clean and refreshed) Then instead of saying " now I am going to sleep" just lay down and forget about sleep, just relax and enjoy just BEING. Think of how soft and warm your bed is. Imagine your self getting a massage. Just let go off all worries and fears. Nothing can bother you in those moments, just be peace and stillness.

      Peace and Love

Lily, I by no means wish to offend you, my words are very bold and a lot of people take offence to my ideas which is fine by me. However I actaully do want to help. I Would say that the most important thing to do is to find Love for your self. I want to PM you as I would really like to talk to you about some things.
Oh and by all means go and try things, live free and make your own choices. Denying your self doesn't lead to happiness. I suggested the no drugs thing as an idea but I by no means suggest that is a way of life for anyone if they do not enjoy that idea. I don't tell people how to live I just say what worked for me. But you know, I eat crap food all day long and I love it! I don't follow rules and guidlines and other people. I have fun and do what reflex who I choose to be, the next highest vision of my self. So yes indeed do what makes you happy, but the most important thing is to Love your self and Love the things that you do. If you have pure love for cheese then cheese will be healthy for you and you will be happy eating it, if you do not have love for it then it will be unhealthy. So by all means do whatever makes you happy, is the most full of joy but always, always Love your choice.
      Peace

      HI

      Hi Lily.

I am in a situation just like yours regarding sleep. I can't fall asleep until about 5AM and I sleep till about 1PM (my classes take place from 9AM - 1PM so this sleep schedule is not working for me ). When I try to lay down and sleep my mind races like crazy and the thoughts won't stop. The harder I try to sleep the more I think. Then I try not to try to sleep and that doesn't work. Then I try to just let the thoughts pass by and that doesn't work either.

When I do sleep I do not feel well rested when I wake up. I have no energy to do anything during the day and I feel like I'm on auto-pilot. I have dark circles under my eyes and I look like a mess. Sleeping is one of my favorite things to do and it's really bothering that I can't do it right now.

I saw that you mentioned pot in one of your posts. Pot is probably the best thing I have ever used to fall asleep but it is also the reason I am having this sleeping probelm (I quit smoking pot along with quiting all the other bad habits I had about 2 weeks ago all at the same time). I know that as time goes on I will return to normal but I am a wreck inside right now. It is because I used pot incorrectly (too often, almost everyday for 2 years). Always remember that for every high there must be a low. In my case, I kept trying to avoid that low by getting high again. This is a very nasty cycle.

Now that I am out of the cycle I am feeling the suffering that I had coming to me. It really sucks but I know that I made the choices and now I have to take what comes with them. Corerct me if i'm wrong but this is may be part of what Tom was talking about when he mentioned not using any types of drugs (whether it is pot, sleeping pills, or any other substance that gets you into a cycle like the one I described). Drugs definentaly aren't the answer they are like a boat and your problem is like a river. The boat is a vehicle to get you across the river, but when you get to the other side, the boat has done its job and needs to be left behind.

For you the sleeping pills may be like the pot was for me. It may be time to leave them behind. This is only a suggestion but only you know whats best for yourself. Maybe for you pot will help your sleeping problem temporarily (my guess is that it would) but it may not. I am not suggesting that you do it but I am just throwing my opinion out there.

You also mentioned DSPS. I study psychology and I have read a lot on this topic. If you are in your teens or twenties what you are experiencing is normal for many people in that age group. I won't get into everything behind why that is because I have typed too much already. If you have any questions though, or if you just feel like talking, send me a PM anytime (I'm always up ).

I really hope everything works out for you. Good luck

      Lily,

Your life sounds like a wild roller coaster ride. Seems like your having fun with it too. I like to try a lot of different things in my life as well including many different drugs. Drugs are nothing to mess around with (do your research) but they can take you to amazing new states of consciousness under the right conditions. It is hard to decribe but I've enjoyed what I've been through. Anyway, I love your spirit. Its very inspiring. Hope everything works out for you.

      Peace

Hey Lily I see another star has joined us.

Anyway, I wish that I knew more about sleeping disorders so that I could be more help to you, but the only thing I can think to advise right now is to really be strict about limiting your use of sleeping pills. If you're taking them all the time, set up a schedule for yourself so that you will only take the pills on certain days Then from there you can try using them less and less days until you no longer need them.

Well, another thing that you can try is to develop an activity that you can associate with going to sleep. It can be something like taking a shower or reading a book or listening to a certain kind of music, but if you choose to go this direction, remind yourself when you're doing the activity that afterwards you will go to sleep. Other than that, I'm not sure what you could try.

Also, as far as dream interpretation, I also don't place much faith in "dictionaries." To me, dreams are a "broken mirror image" of reality, where we experience what we have experienced in real life, only the pieces are jumbled and cracked and overlapped. For me, the significant parts of dreams include those things that I feel are new to me and I don't know where they came from.

Anyway, I hope that I was helpful in some way. Let me or one of the other Staff members know if you need anything. Sweet dreams.

As a dictionary I frequent was not doing me good because some terms and interpretations for certain things weren't there. I probably just haven't mastered the art of interpreting dreams. I don't much lucid dream, although I use to try when I was younger and more into dreams. Right now in my life I more like allowing my mind to just flow with whatever it wants to dream. As if my brain/mind has something to tell me. Sometimes I wish I was an artist so I could paint/draw or do something with the imagery so people could see it better (I use to try when I was REALLY young, kind of weird to think even then I felt something about dreams) and I hoped being able to look at the images again and again would better help in interpreting or coming up with a term to interpret.
      welcome to dv.
