      New-B

Hi everyone, I've experienced LD on several occasions and I never knew there was a name for it until a few nights ago. I've started to TRY to have LD and I think I am going to be quite successful once I get a better grip on things. I went from remebering one to two dreams a week to everytime even when I nap now I am remembering atleast a small portion of my dreams. I have thought about a topic before I fell asleep that I wanted to dream about and with a few attempts it has acutually worked although I didn't realize I was asleep at the time and I wasn't in control of it. I think that is A HUGE STEP in the right direction. I think as soon as I realize I am dreaming I am waking myself up. I need to relax a little bit more and try to stay calm when I am getting into the dreams. It's almost like watching TV for me now ( as in entertainment level) I am getting a lot more rest out of my sleep as well. I am also able to wake myself up at a specific time without an alarm (it's been the exact same time to the second 2 nights in a row now).

Sorry I got a little ahead of myself. I am really excited about this. My name is Brad. I am 22. I am in the military, currently stationed in Iraq. I do not enjoy what I do but someone has to do it. I plan on finishing college in FL and getting my degree in nursing. I am in a longterm-commited relationship with a very wonderful woman that is the most amazing thing to ever happen to my life. I think that pretty much gives ya'll a decent bit of info on me. I am usually pretty friendly and like talking to people. Feel free to im me and share your experiences!

Welcome to the forum! We are happy that you decided to join our community. I am sure that with a little work, you will be LDing in no time. You have made progress, it seems. It's great that you've decided to keep a DJ...It really helps with recall as you well know. Check out our tutorials and adoption program. Those are both helpful resources you might want to consider utilizing.

Anyway, wow...You're in Iraq? I am so sorry that you are so far away from your significant other. If my fiance ever had to go to war or somewhere so far away, I would be devistated. I am so glad that she's there to support you through all of that.

      Hope you enjoy it here!

Thank You! I am having a problem with a lot of the abreviations is there a list of them anywhere? I am guessing DJ would be daily journal? I kinda want to share my dreams but the way i remember them is usually out of sequence. Remembering or concentrating on one part of the dream helps me get to another part: prio or after that point.

Hey there, Brad, and welcome! Sounds like you're off to a good start, especially for being in such a stressful situation.

This link should help you with the acronyms. Just for starters, DJ is short for "Dream Journal".

Hey there and welcome to the forum!
Like TygrHawk said, there is an acronym list for LDing terms, though there isn't one for basic abbreviations (ROFL, etc), so I will have to maybe make a guide for that...

LOL. Thank You. I know the tradiotional Acronyms and what not. I am just not very familiar with the LD jargon. I find this entirely fascinating. I've always been able to fall asleep at the drop of a hat and this has put an enteriely new twist to sleep. It's AWESOME. So the few Lucid Dreams I am guessing that is what I would call them from what it was in my past. The first one I could remember was when I was 11. I had just moved from Tx to FL. My gf was standing in a field and I walked up to her and I talked to her for a min kissed her and explained to her that I was sleeping and I had to get up for school in a little while.
The second one I had I was at the cheerleading gym where I worked and I was just doing normal stuff but my x-gf's mom was sitting on the mat and she approached me and said "Hey Brad, You know that you're dreaming, right?" So I asked her if it was okay if I **cked her daughter, and she said go ahead. At that point I took her to my car. It was insane. The 3rd wasn't too long ago. I was sleeping and I was having a convorsation with someone and I tried to convince them I was sleeping. I told them watch I can make myself float in the air. Well I jumped and tried to float like in the ocean on my back. I fell each of the 3 times but it didn't hurt. I got frustrated with not being able to float and woke up. I wasn't away for lucid dreaming at that time. I think if I was in that situation again or if I can control up until that point I could do ANYTHING. I know that some how before this site it was possible I didn't know other people could do it too. I think I will be a master in no time. Once I get to the breaking point it will all be down hill. ( All of my friends think I am crazy )

To me, that is weird. It'll get more and more mainstream over time, I am sure. Dreams or things that are so profound often bother people, though I can't imagine why. Perhaps it is because they haven't experienced it.

Thank you for your service, Brad. Welcome.

I'm new here too and have been overwhelmed by the warm greetings and contacts already.
