      hey everyone

i've become interested again in lucid dreaming, i'm aiming to experience this (and maybe astral projection) with ease eventually. I am so overwhelmed right now i don't know where to start. I have a few questions though

      1) I'm probably going to be the kind of person that will have a hard time achieving lucidity. With practice, anyone can do this though right?

      2) how effective is the Brainwave Generator in achieving lucid dreams/ OOBEs? I have a couple of interesting presets i want to try out

      3) how long might it take to achieve a lucid dream?

      thanks!

Hey there and welcome to the forum!!
The answer to your first question is yes, anyone can do it! Of course, it will make it a lot easier to accomplish if you keep a Dream Journal. Also, you may want to take a look at the Tutorials as well to help you get started. I haven't tried the Brain Generator before, so all I can say is that it has worked on others. The length of time to gain a LD varies from person to person.
Oh, and if you do want to talk about OBEs, AP, DSing, etc, you might want to check out the Beyond Dreaming forum.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

1.) What makes you think that? You should have a more positive attitude.

2.) I tried it a few times, it never worked though. But you should still try it, for some people it works like a charm.

      Welcome to the forum, scooter!

As said above, you should be able to LD as long as you put in the effort. Unfortunately, we can't give you a time frame in which you'll have your first LD, because everyone is different and it's impossible to predict your progress. For some people, it may be days, and for others, it may be several months to a year.

If you put in the effort and try different things, I'm sure you'll start making good progress. So don't have a negative attitude that you think you won't be able to become lucid right away. I'll let you in on one of the Seven Secrets of Life: THOUGHTS ARE THINGS. You are already shooting yourself in the foot by telling yourself you can't do it. Positive thinking is very important in LDing - and try never to get discouraged or frustrated.

So, read through the tutorials on this site, and I strongly recommend buying a copy of Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen LaBerge. This book is considered the Bible of LDing and has excellent information that can be easily applied to your life.

So good luck and have fun on your journey. Please don't hesitate to ask questions.

oh i don't mean to have a negative attitude, i just think i'll have to put effort and commitment into it . i'm really excited about this though. I'm looking for alternatives to drug-like experiences, and LD/astral projection/etc seems to be the answer.

I certainly believe that anyone can do it. Practice, and (as the others said) confidence are the keys.

It's not even "negative attitude" so much as it is having doubts. If you have any doubt at all that you will succeed, it is likely that you will not. See this tutorial -- it helped me a lot.
