      Just a ???

When I was younger I used to have sleep paralysis a lot. I would go to sleep and wake up in a sense...I could see the room and hear everything but I could not move any part of my body. It completely freaked me out. Everyone kept telling me I was just dreaming but I KNOW I was awake..well at least in a sense. I can't really count the times this happened but after a few years it stopped.

Is this something similar or is it completely different.

I guess I should send some time reading over the boards.

Yes, this does sound like sleep paralysis. It does scare many people, but try to relax and it will resolve on its own.

SP can also be very benificial to LDing. WILDing might just be your forte. If I were you, I would remind myself that SP is not in any way harmful. As Burns said, relax and you'll be just fine.

I've read that some people experience a great deal of anxiety during sleep paralysis. Some people get the sense that a presence is in the room with them and it scares the heck out of them. I think it's called the 'old hag' experience or something like that.
