      hello everyone

hey everyone, as said im quite new to this board..
Im a 20 yr old male, in Ontario Canada. I enjoy playing guitar..well music in general as well as art and design.
Reason for me joining this is I've always been interested in lucid dreaming, dreaming in general i suppose. I haven't really been able to talk to anyone with insight into it. I have tons of questions i hadn't been able to ask.

I was always looking at my dreams closely and easily remembering, until one week, actually the whole week i took control of every dream. Then it stopped... i hope to gain it back through curiosity i once had.

But hey, since we're at it, ill throw one question at you...
I took control of one dream, i tend to notice dream characters ignore wierd things i do. I was in a classroom and just causing troubling lol, nudging the teacher and she'd ignore it etc. But this one student in the class seemed to know what i was doing... he gave me a wierd look and i instantly woke up. !! how did he know what i was doing? he seemed independant

anyways... hope to help the community and add to it as i can

Hey there Impel, and welcome to DreamViews!

Good to see that you already have some experience with lucid dreams. I'm sure that you'll find a lot of good info here that will help you regain your ability. Don't worry about it -- we all go through dry spells. One thing I would recommend is to check out this Tutorial -- it really helped me break a bad dry spell.

I know exactly what you mean. In most cases, my DCs don't pay much attention to what I'm doing -- as I've mentioned before, one of my dream signs is being naked in public places, and either nobody notices or nobody cares. But every now and then I'll run into a DC that seems completely self-aware. I'd like to believe that these DCs are other dreamers that are somehow sharing my dream -- but the practical side of me says there must be another explanation.

      Welcome to the forum, Impel!

Sometimes I have the same problem with not recognizing weird things happening as being a dream. You win some, you lose some.

These characters could be a representation or extension of your own awareness to get you to communicate with yourself.

      POSSIBILITY A:
You find yourselves in an alien environment, walking amongst strangers of which don't take particular notice to you. This uneasy feeling makes you "seek out" some recognition. So, naturaly, your mind will compensate and create some "company" for you to have.

      POSSIBILITY B:
Your mind specifically surrounded you with characters that would not interact with you on - this way you would not be distracted from engaging with the one DC it has placed before you to interact with.

How interesting would it be to have a conversation with this character? What personality would this DC have? What knowledge would he/she posses? Where would the knowledge come from - yourself?

I have problems with dicerning weird dream stuff from normal everyday life stuff. As Burns said, sometimes you get lucid, sometimes you don't.
