Hi everyone

I first heard of lucid dreaming four years ago, but got freaked out when I heard about sleep paralysis so I decided not to try to get lucid (I was twelve years old). Not for now, at least

Now, three months ago, I found this site from a link someone posted on another forum and
I've been trying to get lucid dreams for three months now with no luck.

The closest I have been was when I for the first time seriously tried the WILD technique. After counting my breath for some time I started hearing what sounded like an VCR fast-forwarding, a buzzing sound. I then started seeing scrambled blocks, much like when you are fast-forwarding an VCR this time to. But I got to excited and woke up.

I have also tried the finger induced lucid dream technique by Hargart and it actually worked once. I lied in my bed 'drumming' with my fingers and I did the nose RC and it worked, but I opened my 'dream eyes' to fast and lost lucidity, but the dream continued.

Okay, time for some questions I have:

1. I am a very light sleeper, does this affect my chances of having a lucid dream?

2. When I'm trying to WILD and counting my breathing my thoughts start to drift away and before I know it I'm thinking about something else. Is there any other way then to count your breathing to stay focused that you can recommend?

Thanks!
