New, and with questions to boot.

Hey, I'm a new member (Duh). I've been trying on and off to LD for around a few months now, a lot more just frequently. However, I do have some questions.

I've searched around the forums and haven't found an answer to this, and I don't quite know where it might go, maybe in Control, but I'm not too sure, so if this doesn't belong here I'm sorry.

When dreaming, sometimes I'll suddenly realize, though not like some exciting revelation, that I'm dreaming. Say I'm sprinting down a hall. All of a sudden, I'll assume I'm dreaming and whip around and...well... attempt to energy blast whomever is chasing me. But when I do this, I just end up standing there with my arm outstreched, and soon after the dream sort of fades or I stop remembering it. I've also tried to fly on several occasions, but only succeeding in floating up REALLY high and coming down slow. On the other side of the spectrum, there hae been times when I decide the dream isn't working out, and pretty much LD to open my real life eyes.

Well, yeah, that about sums up what I was curious about. Unless I'm just not doing it right or everybody has these problems and they get over it. So, yeah. Hi guys, I'm new.

      WELCOME
When you are in this state of awareness. Are you confident. Do you have doubts that about you actually being in a dream that is causing you to not be able to administer more control. Complete control is difficult regardless.
I suggest nest time this situation arises that you say out loud something reassuring. YES! I am dreaming and I am in control.

Welcome to this site. Am fairly new here myself. I don't think your floating experiences are all that bad!! I've flown alot in dreams but haven't gotten into floating. I'll have to give that a try.
I can't say there's a right or wrong way to do your lucid stuff. If you post a few questions/comments you'll find there's alot of people here that will try to help out.

Hello DeliStyle, welcome to the forums.

To answer your question. Lucidity takes practice and hard work to get what you want. If you work hard at it and have a positive attitude towards Luciding, then you will start to notice changes in your dreams, small at first but as you progress it will become greater and greater.

Dream control has many techniques you can use to harness your dreams. Have a look through the Tutorials section one more time, it always helps.

      Good luck

So is it more, it's not enough to know you're dreaming, you have to know you're in control? It is hard sometimes, because I'll find myself teleporting everywhere, almsot like watching a movie. In fact, most of the time, that's how I dream. I also notice I feel really groggy in the dreams, would saying something like "Smooth out!" or something to that effect help it?

      Welcome to the forum

Being lucid and having control are two different things. You can control your dream without being lucid (and vice versa). It just takes practice to be able to control a LD. I sent you a PM with links to the tutorials, which you should check out when you can. Try some different things, and feel free to post any questions or experiences you may have.

      Good luck and have fun!
