there has do be something im doing wrong...

ok, tell me the chances of me having an LD, if i:

      reality check every half-hour.

go to bed, relax myself and focus on remembering my dreams.

think about LDing alot during the day.

i've been doing this for about a year, and havent LD'd yet.

also, if i get to the stage for remembering 2 dreams a night, what steps do i then take to LD? can someone please give me a phrase to help me remember my dreams?

      thanks alot.

hey, yeah im sort of new to this thing where you do certain rituals and voila!, lucid dream time. ive mostly just had them randomly and for no apparent reason.

however, i did start getting them about every night when i got to the point where i was remebering ALL of my dreams from the night before and writing them down in the morning. i eventually stopped doing this because, as you could imagine, writing 7 or 8 dream journals everyday gets time-consuming. but it really works. the hard part is getting to that point.

im sure youll get some better advice from others here

      good luck!

Well, sounds to me like you might be trying too hard...reality checks every half hour strikes me as a bit much, but then everyone is different.
I tend to do a reality check when i see something totally odd, like a weird car or something.
Remembering two dreams a night...well, you could start noting down your dreamsigns, and acting on them by doing reality checks in your dreams.
You have to believe it's going to work though.
I don't know if this is any help to you, but some of the others might have more advice than me...

      Hey NZ,

According to that list I'd say you're doin everything right - unfortunately, that's what they call something that "looks good on paper".
I believe there is such a thing as trying too hard. What happens is that it becomes and obsession, and that leads to stressful or desperate behavior. Stress is a dream killer - and you can't go lucid without dreams!

You can do a couple things at this point:
[list] - one week or so with no lucid intention might snap you out of it.
Try completely new techniques - WBTB, WILD, etc
Concentrate on only one technique [list]
A little tip that might help about your reality checks: when you find yourself in "reality" after checking for it, take a moment to imagine what might have happened had you found yourself in a dream at that point. This will give you some training on being able to identify something out of the ordinary in a dream (because remember, in dreams we dismiss some pretty crazy stuff as bieng "normal")

In addition to what others have said, you need to keep at it. I mean, how long have you been trying? This isn't a thing that instantly happens. You have to really work hard at it. So, don't give up. Let up on the stress and don't get too obsessive. It'll happen eventually.

Ok, well you actually DID try a little and that wasn't part of the plan.... but I'll let it slide . The point is, you now KNOW you can do it so the confidence is there. Don't need to worry about it so much. You're gettin it!
