      Hello, everyone

      Well, here's a little bit about me:

      I'm 15 year old male from Norway. I like listening to Ill Niņo, Yesterday's Rising, Nirvana, System of a Down, El Caco and Blindside (+many more). I don't like songs with a lot of the same (guitar-solos, screaming all the way through, just instrumental, pop...).

      And for the dreaming part:
      I was able to dream about anything I'd like when I was little, and I could enter the dream as soon as I fell asleep (although it probably just seemed like it was right away for me) and I always knew it was a dream. It stopped when I was about 6 years old, but I didn't a good DR at that time, so I didn't notice any change.
      I had another LD when I was 10 years old, and the next one took three more years. Since then I've had 15 LD's, some short, some long. The only 'method' I've ever used to achieve (sp?) ludidity is to do RC's and do them when something strange comes up in a dream.

      I've tried WILD without any success (I've never had HI in my life). I'm not motivated enough for WBTB, I've tried at least 10 times. I tend to forget RC's for several months before I do them frequently again. I'm also not motivated enough for RN (Rythm Napping)...
      I think that I'll try FILD tonigh, maybe that will do the trick?

      Just for the record: I have very mild OCD. I'm afraid to think certain thoughts, what if they come true?
      I also felt that I had to do some special things when I was little, like moving objects, standing a special place, I actually thought that I might die if I didn't do it (that was my rituals).
      I don't do those things anymore, even though I feel I have to do some things, I just don't do it! Just thought that I'd share that, I've actually never told anyone before...well, nevermind!

      Shall I tell some more? Well, why not?
      Ever heard about the Exploding Head Syndrome? I think that most people experiencing it just have HH, but maybe I have EHS? The reason I think so is that all the things I've thought about for 4-5 minutes before it happens is erased! I've never heard of that happening if it's only HH...

      And I'll end this with me telling you that I couldn't dream of killing a DC, they're kinda like people too

      Hey there GrandSummon! Welcome aboard the good ship... Dream Views.

      It's good to see you have already had a lot of experiences with lucid dreaming. Good luck in regaining your former lucid powers, i'm sure that this site will help you on your way.

      As for the OCD, I don't think you're completely alone in here... http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic....0&highlight=ocd

      Don't know much about EHS. Is it connected with Sleep Paralysis in any way? I've experienced loud sounds but it was during SP, and during the transition phase so that would be HH.

      Welcome to the forum, GrandSummon!

      I hope this site and forum will help you get back to the way you used to dream. It's seems like most people had more frequent LDs during childhood. Please feel free to post any questions or experiences you may have. Good luck and have fun!

      So, these LD's would be classified as DILDs...

      Just a little clarification: WILD doesn't NECESSARILY mean focussing on HI. There's other ways to do a WILD. ONE of these ways is FILD... IMHO, FILD is a subset of WILD. Another technique you MAY want to try is focussing on your body, etc, or on any sounds you might hear. There's LOTS of ways to do WILDs, and DON'T get frustrated just because what happenes to you isn't what is described by most people... my advice is, stick with WILD. Post some of your attempts on Attaining Lucidity, and maybe people can help you out... I've got only very limited experience, but, I'd be happy to help however I could, and I'm sure other people feel the same.

      Just for the record: I have very mild OCD.[/b]
      *Shrugs* so do I. Don't worry about it.

      Thank you for all your answers

      I'm actually in the middle of a WBTB right now! Quite a breakthrough, huh?

      I think that I'll enjoy it here, it's active and everyone is so nice

      Welcome stranger. WBTB is the way to go if you got the time. But really you dont kill your DC's cause theyre real people as well? I just think of them as an extention of me. Killing them would be like cutting my hair. But then again I always feel bad after a haircutt.

      except for all those acronymes i didn't find the time to fix in my memory (didn't even read about some), your "story " is sort of a copy of mine, including bedtime-silly-rituals and refuse to kill DCs.

      very very very welcome

      I forget how confused I was with the acronyms when I first came here way back when.

      LD=Lucid Dream
      DC= Dream Character
      WBTB= Wake Back To Bed (an induction technique...click my mari sig for more info)
      WILD= Wake Incuded Lucid Dream(or Waking Induction to Lucid Dreaming)
      IMHO= In My Humble Opinion
      OCD=Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
      HI= Hypnagognic Imagery
      FILD = Something F word Induced Lucid Dream...i cant even remember what a FILD is...and
      I am also to lazy to look it up.
      EHS= Exploding Head Syndrome
      HH= I have no idea
      SP=Sleep Paralasys
      DR= doctor?? probably not..i dont know
      RC=Reality Check
      RN=rythym napping

      holy hell thats a lot of acronyms. i started this post thinking there were like 4 or 5 acronyms....turns out I dont evenknow em all.

      Guess I'll take what's left:

      FILD: Finger Induced Lucid Dreaming
      DR: Dream Recall
      HH: Hypnagogic Hallucinations

      Am I using too many acronyms?

      HH? Wht happened to HI? Hypnagognic imagery? I like that one better.

      Maybe a tad overboard on the acronyms but maybe more importantly there should be(if there isnt already) a sticky on LDT(Lucid Dream Terminology). And then maybe everyone will be OTSP(On The Same Page). But I think most people KWYWS(Know What You Were Saying)
