      Hi! Quick question...

First, I'm Lisa - I'd like to thank you for setting up this forum and site for all of us who are seeking answers! I have been Google'ing lucid dreaming and astral projection almost all morning now - hard to do when you're trying to take care of three little ones, but I am so desperate for some answers at this point. This, by far, has been the best site I've seen.

I was wondering if anyone could offer their opinion to me regarding what I have been experiencing.

Every couple of months for about 14 years, since someone I really liked (or maybe loved) and I lost touch, I have these vivid dreams about him. We were never a couple - just one of those situations where we couldn't be together because we were both in serious relationships.

Anyway, these dreams - it's like we both know we're dreaming. We pretty much just hold hands, hug, lock arms...I think only a few times have we ever kissed or done anything more than that. We experience other things, like trying to hide from people seeing us, seeing a house on fire, etc... The dream always ends with the same "understanding" that we'll be together if and when neither one of us is married and we actually say goodbye, and I wake up.

They are so "real" and sometimes I am affected by them for even a few days afterward. As you can see now, with me having another one of these dreams Friday night and here I am today, trying to figure this out.

I keep telling myself I am dreaming these based on emotions, but while they are nice, it brings back feelings for him, and hurt emotions too!

Is it possible for someone to come to you in your dream, and thus experience a "lucid dream", or maybe I am having something more? Or is just all of my emotions playing out for me. I wonder if I can get them to not come as frequently?

      TIA!
      Lisa

greetings! some people believe in what's called "shared dreaming" in which two or more dreaming people exist within the same dream and can interact with each other. there's no evidence for it's existence beyond the anecdotes. it's also possible (since this has been going on for such a long time) that it affected you much than you know. with lucid dreaming, i'd imagine some would suggest you try to talk to the guy and ask him why he keeps showing up, i.e. try to resolve whatever unfinished business there is. or maybe you should try to find him in real life.
