      This is me.

      Hello all,

This is my first post, and I'd like to introduce myself as well as ask some basic questions. I'm niko from Australia, and I've known about lucid dreaming from some quite time now, however, I've never took the time to fully understand it, and even attempt it. The reason for this is mainly due to the fact that after researching lucid dreaming, there were so many different tips and advice on how to induce this type of dreaming. I found that it wasn't exactly the best way to go about it, and I really needed some continuous guidance, and experiences from other people. I stumbled across this forum, and after going over some of the posts, realised this is exactly the community of people that could help me achieve a lucid dream. Hence, why I'm writing this post now

I fully understand that lucid dreaming is a difficult thing to achieve, and I'm extremely patient (and persistant) when it comes to trying to lucid dream. So basically my question is... for a absolute newbie, what would be the best way to go about learning how to lucid dream. Should I perhaps get adopted? I was thinking this may be the best option, as I have no experience what so ever... and it may be helpful to condition myself and progress through each phase with guidance the whole way.

      Thanks guys.

Hey, Niko. Welcome to the forum! I hope you find all that you need here. I think that your best course of action, would be to look for a tutorial that you think would be best for you. Then, practice that method to the letter for a week or so. When you've done that, start making variations in the method so that you can find exactly what is best for you. Anyway, after two weeks, I think it would be a great idea to look for an adopter.

Welcome to the forum! You've definitely come to the right place to learn about LDing.

As Gwen mentioned above, the tutorials would be a starting point to learn about the different techniques and acronyms. And if you haven't already started a dream journal, that will be your homework. Your DJ will be the best tool you have to start having LDs. It will help you recognize patterns and dreamsigns.

Please feel free to post any questions or experiences you may have. Good luck and have fun!

      Welcome, to the DV forums.
Anyway, best course of action indeed, would be to follow the tutorials.

If I were you, i'd stay away from WILD or any other lucid dream techniques that require more power (Mainly because it takes for almost EVERYONE a LONG while to prepare, and it won't even work all the time) So just to not get you disappointed and demotivated.

The easiest of course, is dream-induced lucid dream

Anyway, the FIRST thing ever (At least what I would do) is to train yourself to REMEMBER YOUR DREAMS!!! (And a dream journal might work as well, somehow I started writing in it after not doing so for a half year, and suddenly my mind unclogged as I remembered 50 dreams which I all wrote down) And that resulted in my best Lucid Dream yet

So simply put: I consider Dream Recall (To remember your dreams) the most important thing to ''be capable off'', after all, if you don't remember your dreams it won't even matter

But before I start blabbering 1000 pages full of text, don't try to ''train'' too much, just generally flow into the schematics. (In the same essence like: To learn to run you first need to learn to walk).

Don't expect yourself of being capable of EXTREME powerful things in the beginning, but seeing as you say that you have great patience, that will probably not be a problem.

      Have fun, and good luck.

P.S: If this post is totally impossible to read i'll reorganize it .
