How do you lucid-gods do it?

I got a question for the more skillful people in here. When you really have mastered the skill of becoming lucid, do you have to continously practice the reality tests and exercises to keep the skill, or do the ability to spot a dream stick? How do you lucid-gods get lucid? Are you just trained to recognize any dream or do you have to keep inducing it by will or waking practice? I'm very curious... Have you found your own auto-pilot?

One word: Practice. That's all it takes. Or if you are one of the lucky ones, it'll come naturally.
Success comes to those who are not afraid of failing.

      How it is.

Well my question is more about how lucid-gods keep their gift. Not how they become lucid-gods. When you got the hold of it, what does it take to use it and keep it? Is it a piece of cake forever?

Ok let me try to give you the feeling I have...ready?...ok here we go

When you get up int he morning you say, I am awake, be it consiously or sub-consious, you do agknowledge the fact that you ARE awake. Everything feels nice and clear and open and you know you are on the physical plane. Now after a while of doing reality checks you may start to notice that when you get up, the first thought you get is "WHY does everything feel so nice and awesome?" And you will proceed to do a RC. Now after an even longer time, You will start to walk around with the expectation that it is a dream, you can not be dissuaded from this, you will ALWAYS think it is a dream. You MUST keep that mindset if you want a lucid almost every night.

Now if you stop doing these reality checks constantly, you will notcie that you won't question existence anymore, you will get up int he morning and just accept that you are awake, you will agknowledge all of the sensations of being awake...you most likely will not have anymore lucid dreams, but if you so chose to start lding again, the dreaming sensation will hit your real life quickly, and without much, if any, practice....

I hope this helps, as this is what I am personally like
God, grant me the courage the change the things I can, the serenity to accept the things I can't, and the wisdom to know the difference...

Depends on if you develop it. I have had it for a while, but:
      1) I could never get rid of it no matter how hard I try!
      2) Why give it up? It is too fun!

I totally agree with you nesgirl119! I don't think I would ever want to give it up once I get the hold of it. I was just worried that continuous effort was needed to keep the ability, because I feel like I am trying really hard these days. Looking forward to try out the NovaDreamer. It will arrive some day soon. Do you guys in here own or have tried one?

Once you have a taste of lucidity it will never go away. That is, you will always have lucid dreams, but I have found that I have less of them when I just take it for granted.

Lucid dreaming came naturally to me. My tell or dream sign is the fabric of space that exists in dreams. This makes one of the best sign, I think, because it will always be there. Even in the most realistic dreams, it is there. I can SEE the fabric of the dream material.

But I have to remember to look for this, and I have to go to bed with lucidity on my mind to have more common lucid dreams.

      So, to answer your question...
Yes, you will ALWAYS have to practice it, BUT not the way you are describing. You sound like you are really struggling. Once your mind becomes accustomed to identifying the dream and grabbing hold, you will not have to struggle to do it. It WILL be easy. . .

Just like riding a bike. You never lose it completely, but to ride a bike, you do have to move the pedals, or else the bike goes all slow, and you tip over and smash your !@%$ face in.
...Okay... Maybe not so much like a bike...

---o--- my DCs say I'm dreamy.
