      Hello Everyone, Newbie Here

Very extensive forum on dreaming! I found it googling lucid dreaming. I am a lucid dreamer, but right now my problem is waking up too soon when I realize I'm dreaming. It happens maybe every 3 or 4 months, but it seams I can go into certain states if I deprive myself of sleep some...by going to sleep at 4am or 5am.

I believe I have also had OBEs, which I have posted about in the "Beyond Dreaming" forum, hoping to have someone clarify or verify my experiences.
In addition, I have had what I would characterize as a "religious" experience that lasted about two weeks, with a climax in the middle and a hospital visit. The reason I say religious is becuse of the content of the experience. "Knowledge and explanations" of such concepts as death, sin, evil, goodness..etc were all part of the experience. Very powerful. I believe I read somewhere about "Christian Manic-Depressive" religious experiences and there were corrolations.

Anyhow, this is my first time reaching out to others who may have or are sharing similar experiences.
      Thanks.

Hey there and welcome to the forum!!

I would seriously recommend keeping a dream journal, and then doing reality checks all the time. If you do that, you'll LD in no time!
And as for the religious part, I am sure you'll have a lot of fun in the religion forums, as well as the Beyond Dreaming forums!
If you have any questions in reguarding how to LD, feel free to ask!

I've also had trouble with staying lucid once I realize I'm dreaming. One thing you can try (which I've recently been working on) is being more aware of how your dream body feels than your sleeping body. The biggest thing is to remain calm, but when you become lucid you can try rubbing your hands together to increase your awareness in the dream, but I've been working on just focusing on my (usually standing) dream body. It's just an idea, though.

As for OBEs, I don't really have a stance on them but you've got the right idea posting in the BD forum. Let us know if we can do anything for you. Welcome to the forum!
