That's the kit I bought a few years back and it did the trick for me. Though the claim that the mask detects rem sleep is totally untrue (The site I bought it from made that claim). I looked at the electronics and could not determine any components that could detect rapid eye movements. A simple timer connected to leds that blink after some time has elapsed. It was effective at telling me I was sleeping and waking me up. Making me more aware that I was sleeping was key though. After a few days I stopped using the mask as it was waking me up. I was lucky to have a lucid dream the next day I read the book, listened to the cd and used the mask. All thre components helped.

I am very sceptical about such kits. I think most of what lucid dreaming is about is down to will and determination, and a real desire to succeed. I don't have one of these kits, i've just concentrated on recall and reality checks, and i've had several lucid dreams.
      The more natural the better!

You may have the will and determination but without knowledge on how to do it, you won't get far.
I may will myself to be rich but if I don't know how to then my chances are limited to winning the lottery and my determination is a simple walk to the corner store for tickets.

The kit is not really un-natural.
      Meditation Technique CD
      Dream Journal
Laberge's book and lucid training tutorial

Most of the things discussed here on this site are covered by those things. Reading on how to do it is natural wouldn't you say? Though using this site is cheaper.

The only thing I could qualify as un-natural is the dream mask with LEDs to alert you (supposedly) that you are dreaming... As I have stated, it only managed to wake me up, usually when not dreaming. A 90 minute timer. Well it did allow me to be more aware that I am sleeping and, subsequently, though not directly, made me more aware that I am dreaming. For that reason, I can't fully knock it down though I will say it never really worked as a dream detector per se as it has no idea if you are dreaming or not. Also the LEDs are so bright, you'd need to be in a coma not to be awaken by them.

      yeah, okay, fair enough.
Good point! I guess i maybe think i don't need to buy those kits, cos i have dv. Although i do have Laberge's book, and it has proved very invaluable in dealing with my nightmares.
      So hats off to him!
