That's exactly right. You see, it's somewhat of a paradox - how will you know if you have a lucid dream if you can't remember the dream? (wait, that's not a paradox, is it? )

I have to admit that I have yet to really meet someone who can LD at will. Sure, there are few on the site who claim they can (and it's certainly possible I suppose), but I've met some pretty dedicated oneironauts (including LaBerge himself) and it's my impression that there really is no guarantee - only likelyhood depending on your skill level. Yes, I believe it is a skill (or talent) - something that you can develop.
