      First up, welcome. :)

Okay, sleep paralysis can be a bitch. I'm sure most people here will agree. When it comes to overcoming the anxiety, all I suppose you need to remember is that it's natural and you're not in danger of any harm from it. Just treat it like a normal everyday thing and that should get you though it.

      hey Alkoman, welcome to DV

Yeah you can achieve lucidity through sleep paralysis.....as soon as you're aware that you are dreaming and can't move, that means you're already lucid. At that point, you need to find a way to break out of the paralysis without waking up so you can continue the lucid dream with mobility.

It's different for everybody, but for me, I just concentrate on moving just one arm. Once I break it free, the rest of me is mobile, but it doesn't always work.

Do you go into sleep paralysis alot?

Not counting later sensations, such as vibrations or HI, do you really know that you have entered SP when you do? Do you feel anything or is it something you just know WILL happen? I don't think that I ever have, but as I relax and start to see images I can't even imagine moving. My body is so heavy that, really, I can't even comprehend the thought of moving.

to Ophelia: No this was my first time
to Bob: yes i do feel that something is about to happen... not sure what but it felt like something unpleasent.. i was in my apartment at first, sitting on the sofa with some girlfriends that i knew looking at them... then suddenly i was in my summer home in the bed with the cover up to my neck (where i was actually sleeping at the time) and in front of me there is a balcony door and somekind of a black figure was stearing at me trough the glass window on the door... at that time i felt the fear like flowing over me and i tryed to move but i couldnt move at all and i started to scream so a few seconds before i woke up i managed to pull the bed cover over my head and panicked to wake up... so thats my story
