Welcome to the forum!

It definitely sounds like you're ready to learn more about LDing. Yes, it's possible to control your dreams (whether it a lot or a little) - which is LDing is so sought-after. Knowing you're dreaming and being able to control it - that's the goal. However, you can have control over a dream without being lucid, just as you can be lucid and not have any control.

And it also sounds like your recall is great! Did you currently keep a dream journal? If not, that is your first official homework assignment. Keep a spiral notebook, Word document, PDA, voice recorder - whatever floats your boat - just get those dreams recorded somehow! Recording your dreams will allow you to recognize common themes and patterns in your dreams, and therefore play to your strengths to become lucid.

If you haven't checked out the tutorials yet, that is an excellent place to start. And if you enjoy reading books (especially before bed), I'd highly recommend Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen LaBerge, commonly refered to as EWOLD on this forum.

Please feel free to post any questions or experiences you may have. Good luck and have fun!
