Please help me! I am soo close!!!!

Please help me guys, i think i am close to lucidity. Here is what happened:

Since three nights ago i keep writing a dream diary but I could not find any dream sign yet. Except maybe a TV. Also I often make reality checks.
I went through this diary before going to sleep last night and to tell it briefly: I was kept awake till 5 in the morning, because this idea of false awakenings I read about was pushing me to make reality checks everytime I open my eyes. At about 4 I stood up for an hour to get in bed as tired as I can. So I lay there, and because I once read about that I should count down from 100 I did and I was feeling that it was working, I was falling asleep, I didn't know which number I had to think about after 78 for example and that is I guess a good sign for falling asleep.
But then at about 35 it happened: I could feel the "awake world" suddenly some kind of tilt and I don't know if I did but it felt like I was turning my eyes this way:
Then I could feel my eyes tremble and twitch and I knew this was REM and I got really excited. My heart was bumping heavily so I was kicked back into reality. I went through this procedure over and over again. I tried to think of a situation I dreamed about the night before, but it didn't help. I tried to focus on some kind of place I want to be at, but it didn't help. I gained control over my excitement when falling asleep but the only result was that I had the feeling of an awake mind and a sleeping body. I could extend the REM phase but all I could see was black - and no this was not the black of the inner side of my eyelids, trust me. When I focused on reality I that inner side was a mixture of grey and yellow because it was bright outside. That's the way I made it through the night...

      What am I doing wrong?

Hi, i don't think you're actually doing anything wrong. You're on the right track for sure, but because you're still new at it, your excitement is waking you up.
      Why don't you try this:
Go to sleep at your normal time. Wake up at your normal time. Stay up for a couple of hours, write down any dreams you've had, read up a bit on lucid dreaming. In the last half hour, get yourself ready to go back to bed. Unwind.
climb back into bed and close your eyes. Think about what you like to be in the next dream, and tell yourself that you will either a) recognise when you are dreaming and continue in the dream or B) wake up after a dream sequence and be able to write them down.
      Hope this helps!
And yes, you are very nearly there, so keep trying!

That is the biggest problem I have, because doing this kept me awake through the whole night. When I am always reminding myself of this I somehow can't come to peace.

You don't have to lay awake thinking about it all night. just give yourself one affirmation before you go to sleep. Then go to sleep as you normally would. Don't worry about what you are going to remember, or what you might dream about.
Just go to sleep and dream, and write down whatever you remember when you wake up. And if you don't remember, don't get stressed out, just try again the next night.
I didn't remember anything last night, and it doesn't bother me, i'll just try again tonight.

Hi, everyone, i have had this experience, but i dont think its a lucid dream, what is it,?
well, it was about 10 pm, and i was lying in bed, i fell asleep, when suddenly, i gained conciusnes, i had my eyes open, i could see, and i could think almost normaly, my thoughts were a bit blurred, well to be sincere, i was scared, i tried to move my arms, but they felt like they weithed a thousand pounds, i got really scared, i tried to move my neck and i couldnt, either, by then i was really scared all i could do was think franticly of waking up, and looking up, suddenly i felt like i was trembling, my whole body was shaking, violently, i triyed to say something or yell, but only a kind of moan escaped my lips, THATS, when the really weird thing happend, i was shaking really violently, when i felt like i was rising from my bed, literally rising, i saw the roof closer by the minute, the trembling got stronger, i felt a kind of pressure in my head, thats when i woke up, everything, got black for a second, or was it minutes? i fell back down...what the f_ck happened?

      please help
