      First lucid dream (I think)

Ok so the other night I had been away for the weekend and got only 4 hours of sleep the night before so I fell asleep at 9 o'clock and woke up at 5am. I remembered the dream I just had then got up for a bit to go to the bathroom and get a glass of water and then I went back down to watch T.V and eventually fell asleep again. Somehow in the dream, I can't remember how I knew that I was dreaming so I began to get excited but calmed myself down. I decided not to do anything too fast so I sort of just waited for a bit. Then I saw my friend who was the person that told me about lucid dreaming and he was like "you did it". Then in the next scene all my friends were there and it was like a ceremony saying that I finally was able to have a lucid dream, but somehow in that sequence I convinced myself that it wasn't a dream and I lost control. Then I had like 3 different dreams that I still remember from two nights ago. Last night I didn't have a lucid dream but I still remember distinct points of the dream. Am I on the track, was this anything like what you guys have experienced?

Sounds to me like a lucid dream. Congrats!

Hopefully you will have more, and longer LDs soon! Pretty awesome, wasn't it?

Yep, definitely an LD, congrats. But don't you hate it when you get Lucid, but then convince yourself you're not dreaming for some ridiculous reason, it's happened to me, and I laugh at myself every time I think about it.

P.S Seeker what's the numbers at the bottom of your siggy? (The "LD's 4:1,4,6,23-5:4,8,18,27-6:5,8,17,21,23" thing)

I almost had another one last night, I had a few dreams and I knew I was dreaming in some of them but I kept waking up whenever I realized that it was a dream. I think I was having false awakenings though because when I looked at my clock one time it said 12:30 and the next time I woke up it said 11.

You did have another Lucid last night. Not almost, DID. Lucidity has nothing to do with control. The second you realize you are dreaming, you are Lucid, even if you have no control and wake up. It may be an Ultra-Low level LD, but it is an LD all the same. There is no such thing as almost Lucid. If you realize you're dreaming YOU ARE LUCID. If you don't know you're dreaming YOU AREN"T LUCID. If you have control you are a higher level of lucidity than if you don't have control, but even without control you are lucid if you know you're dreaming. :bravo: on more LDs.

I had another one last night, after a slew of really weird dreams I had this one where I was at my school and then somehow I walked through a door into a mall and I was with this teacher I had never even spoken to before so I realized it was a dream. At that point I walked away from her and went into a store, I wanted to make sure it was a dream so I went up to a mirror and looked at the reflection, my hand moved in the mirror without me doing anything so I knew for sure at this point that it was a dream. Everything was going great until I thought to myself "I hope I don't wake up"....and then bam I wake up. It's really frustrating, this kind of thing keeps happening to me. What should I do to make myself stay in the dream?

This is totally off topic but I'm gonna jump in because I think I've "cracked the code"

The first number is the month (4 = april, 5 = may, etc), the second numbers are the nights of that month on which he had a lucid dream. So he had lucids on:
      4/1/06
      4/4/06
      4/6/06
      4/23/06
      5/4/06
      5/8/06
      etc

      DAMN I'm good.
