Thread: Help me please

Hello all.
I've been trying to have lucid dreams for about a week now, but im really not getting very far. I've started a dream journal and recently I have started to remember my dreams a lot more and more clearly. I just dont understand how you become lucid though. I've read on a lot of lucid dreaming sites that you have to learn to recognise your dream signs, so when you are dreaming you can notice them. However I don't have a chance to do this when im dreaming. I just dream and wake up, I have no chance to think or do reality test.

The reason you dont do the tests is because you are not conciously aware so you cannot do the tests at will. You have to do the tests EVERY time you see your dreamsign in wasking life, so that it almost becomes a conditioned response to seeing that thing. Also, don't expect to achieve lucidity overnight. It takes a while for most to get the hang of doing it.

Hey, don't get discouraged! It take a little while, but don't give up. It is really worth it!

Yeah, wait a little. I got my first lucid dream without any reality checks at all, indeed, all but one of my lucid dreams so far did not have reality checks in. I recorded my dream for about 3 weeks before my first lucid. Word of advice: when choosing a signal for a reality check, don't choose birds. I did, and they hardly ever appear in dreams, at least for me.

And be calm during your first lucid. Take things slowly. You can fly, that's quite easy, I managed to shrink a house on my first lucid. Just don't do anything that would usually excite you; don't summon a member of the opposite sex on your first try! I am unable to maintain lucidity after that, after six lucid dreams.

Yeah, you just have to find which methods suit you best. You'll just have to have a lucid dream first. I personally wake up on Sunday at 5am, go back to slep, and then I often have a lucid.

Thats excellent just utilize that to futher your abilities and you will be fine.
