      I need a little help

I relized I need a little help about this stuff so I was just wondering if someone could tell me the right and easiest way to have a Lucid Dream. All I need is probably step by step instuctions on how to have a LD or you could tell me how you made it work. Thanks.

Also what are wilds and RCs? I'm new.

      Hey there KR, and welcome.

Unfortunately, there's no simple answer to your question. There are many different methods for inducing lucid dreams, and some methods work better for some people than for others. The best place to start is looking at the DreamViews Main Site and Tutorials section.

Personally, I've had the best luck with the MILD and WBTB methods. I'd recommend you start with those, and if you don't feel you're getting anywhere after a couple of weeks, then try a different method, or some kind of variation.

Bottom line is that it's going to take some work on your part -- nobody is going to be able to hand you the answer to "easy lucid dreaming". However, as most here would tell you, it's worth the work when you reach the reward.

First off, WILD = Wake Initiated/Induced (can't remember which) Lucid Dreaming. There are a few tutorials on it in the tutorials section, and also BillyBob_001created a good one (sorry, I don't have the link). While it is a favorite among many people, I wouldn't recommend it as a starting point unless you dedicate yourself to it, and do it multiple times a week.

Second, RC = Reality Check. This is where you do some kind of test to check if you are dreaming. Some RCs include grabbing your nose and trying to breathe through it (if you can still breath you're dreaming), counting your fingers (if you don't have five fingers per hand, assuming there isn't a logical reason, like losing a finger in real life, you're dreaming), trying to put your finger through your palm (if you can do that, you definitely aren't awake), and looking at a clock or some text, then looking away a couple times and seeing if the time/text has changed (if it has, then you are dreaming). These are used to induce LDs because when you properly RC a lot, it eventually transfers to your dream, and you notice the anomalies and become Lucid. Note that RCs don't work well unless you a. do a lot, and b. do them well. By a lot I mean at least once an hour, preferably 20+ times per day. By well, I mean that you do not do them absently, but do them carefully. For example: You count your fingers and look at your hands for a couple seconds to make sure they look normal; you have five fingers, and your hands look normal. Now you try to put your finger through your palm, but can't. Then you grab your nose and try to breathe, but can't do that either. You think to yourself, "Well then, I am not dreaming." I know this seems tedious, but it only takes about ten seconds to do this, and it really isn't very noticable.

While I haven't had that many LDs, what has worked best for me is to RC many times a day, and after I confirm that I am awake, I tell myself, "But next time I dream I will become Lucid." This I think helps a lot, as self-suggestion (telling yourself you will become Lucid at night is a proven technique, and I believe thorough RCing combined with self-suggestion takes the best of both worlds and gives me at least a better chance of LDing, and after doing excessive RCs like this for a couple days, i generally have an LD. The only problem is I don't always remember to RC enough.

Also, here's a list of all the acronyms, but they'll become second nature in no time!
