Maybe new induction technique?

Hey all, I am new here, please be nice! I have been lurking for a while reading tutorials etc, nearly had an LD last night but woke up straight away, but anyway I was inspired to sign up because I thought of something that could be usefull, and I was hoping to get your input. So my idea basically: -Choose one song you know really well (or that you recognize straight away) -Listen to the song however many times a day, and whenever listening to it, RC like crazy, continually concentrating on if your dreaming so the song becomes linked to you wondering if your dreaming -Then put it on citrus alarm clock to play during your REM periods, the idea being it would make you think of dreaming/RC and help you get lucid. Sorry if this is old news/not a good idea (I haven't tested it out, I am a newb!) Thanks for your input

Cheers! I was thinking something more colourful like Debussy or Beethoven, I think perhaps Slayer might not be healthy for mind to be subjected to. I'm quite involved with music generally and I've always wondered what different things will do. Would Dark Moody music give you nightmares? Or would listening to James Brown make you have a super funky dream (whatever that would be like) If anyone's tried listening to music while dreaming I'd be interested to hear what effects it has had!

If there's sense in the song (you can understand the song and the text makes sense) your mind might try to put up a scenario about the text, though if it is a song, where you can barely hear what the singer is singing, your mind will make up a scenario about what the song is bound to IE. James Bond. You hear the James Bond theme when watching the film, and your mind will be reminded of James Bond, as the theme starts. However, if you hear a theme for a game/film you've never played/seen, your mind will just put up a random scene or whatever fits with it, or just don't care about it. That's atleast what I've heard around

A while ago, when I used to sleep with headphones on listening to the radio, I would often dream of listening to music. One time actually I happened to be dreaming when the morning talk show came on, and it got incorporated into my dream albeit it somewhat warped. So yeah music can definitely transcend into your dreams. As far as inducing anything, I'm a noob so I really can't say much. But I do know that association can be a powerful thing for your mind.
