Hello!
My name is Crystal and no, I am not from Holland, but I plan on visiting there in the future. I'm crazy about dogs, goats and omg cows ! I'm going to start showing goats (yes showing like in a show ring) and possibly cattle soon, if you are wondering why I like goats and cows. I just got into lucid dreaming last month, and so far I have had one very short lucid dream, and a whole bunch of weird, normal ones. I usually can remember 2-4 dreams a night.

Ok that's done. Anyway, I may as well post my question in this thread. I am now convinced that my brain is.. broken... I remember my dreams and their details very well, but sometimes the way I remember them is weird. With some dreams, it seems that a dream I had is almost a sequel to another dream that I have had before. And that dream I had before is only remembered until I dream the sequel. It's very hard to explain, and I'm not even sure if I dreamed it before, or if I dreamed that I had that dream before. I've had this several times. Anyone else get this?

Also, I think I had a prelucid or VERY low lucidity dream. I was trying to get through something (in my dream) and I thought to myself 'this would be much easier if I were a dog'. Walla- I now have turned into a dog (kinda like in those kid movies when the witch turns someone into a cat with just a finger point and a puff of smoke ). But when I was thinking that to myself, it felt like I knew I was dreaming and it was my conscious self that made the decision, but I wasn't getting the whole effect of 'knowing', or I wasn't really grasping that “HEY! I'm dreaming”. It was very weird. Can anyone explain what that is?

Hey Crystal, and

Well if you think about it, when we are in dreams all things seem possible by nature. Weird things can happen and we simply don't use any logical reasoning as to whether they are odd or not - that part of our brain seems to simply shut down or "take a break" while we dream.

So, it seemed perfectly normal that you could morph into a dog. Your level of consciousness was likely being raised and had it continued you would have reached full lucidity. Instead you sort of leveled off at some point in between "woooh, this can't be possible" and "eh, happens all the time". You were also probably so preoccupied in the the dream that you didn't really spend so much time questioning your new capability enough to break over the line of lucidity.

Keep at it, you're getting there. The more you learn to recognize what a dream feels like, the easier it will get to become lucid.

PS-- I love your (real) name

Welcome to the forum. As Tornado Joe said, this is very normal. I've had these almost lucids a billion times. You are just working up to a regular, fully conscious lucid. Don't worry. I would count these as a blessing if I were you. At least you have a head start
