I'm new and have a few questions.

Hi, I am new to this site and have a few questions, first of all let me explain my experience with LDs. I have had somewhere around 5 that I can remember, but only 1 where I was able to stay dreaming(for a little while at least) while lucid. That was about 2-3 months ago after I had read a little about LDing, and had already experienced it for VERY brief periods of time.

1 question I have is this: When I went lucid that one time, even though I was positive it was a dream, and I had complete control over myself(but I could not change the setting on my own) It still seemed kind of...blurry is the only way I could describe it. It wasn't necessarily blurry when you normally think of it, but more I mean that it felt like a dream, not like or even close to real life, I have read some things here that say that their lucid dreams feel almost exactly like reality, so is there any way to make it more real, or is it something with me?

I have just started putting entries in a dream journal, and I have a few questions about it. Is it very necessary to put in more than 1 entry a night? so far I have just done one when I wake up.

Another thing I don't understand is those "shared dreams" I have heard people talking about. From what I understand, people are literally trying to meet in a dream, but they seem like they are serious. I can understand maybe seeing someone in a dream when your mind creates them, but are they really trying to link dreams where they both would remember the same dream? If they really are, could you explain how in the world that is possible

The last thing I have been hearing about is OBEs. While I have heard of things on TV about people who think they have been out of their bodies and can really see their bodies, I don't understand if thats what they are talking about here. If they are talking about that, how exactly does it go along with the topic of Lucid Dreaming?

      First I must say,

Welcome to the forum Toxic Tank!

1)with that dream you had you can be aware of being in a dream and yet still not be able to exercise control over your surroundings. You probably weren't lucid enough to exercise a good amount of control over anything but yourself which might explain the fuzziness. To make it seem more real you just need practice.

2)It isn't necessary to put in more than one entry when you wake up but it might help in the longrun if you do.

3)Shared dreams are where two people meet up in a dream. Usually they do something together and when they wake up they both remember exactly the same thing... I'm not sure anyone knows for sure how its possible but it has happened before to people here so you should see if they can help you.

OBEs apparently can be entered into just before starting a lucid dream by some people, never had an OBE myself.

      Welcome.

      Welcome!

      1. Yep, you just need more experience. Soon you will have more and more control.

      2. I would put everything you remember down onto the journal. It will help you a lot.

      3. This is just a theory that is being tested. There are no real confirmation as if this is true or not. However, I'm not an expert on astral planes etc.

      4. OBEs also occur during sleeping state. Some relate LD directly to OBEs. Again, I'm not an expert in this area.

Hope you enjoy your stay here!

You are right Seeker, that is why I didn't post anything about your questions, I'd just be saying more of the same...

Aphius and squall gave you pretty good responses...

I'd suggest you check out Kaniaz's excellent website compilation in the tutorial section for the answers that we haven't been able to provide: http://dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1655

Particularly the OBE links for your last two questions.

Remember the Internet is a great resource!

Also I just thought of this question. For the people out there who are really good at having LDs and maintaining them, how do they normally end? Does it finally just end against your will like it does to me and most new people, or do you finally just decide to wake up?

i regularly have lucid dreams (like everynight that i try to, i can LD), but 99.9% of my dreams are 'fuzzy' like you describe...its just a dream recall thing...like, i can remember multiple dreams a night, but the details are vague...as you're dream recall ability increases, you'll find that vividness (non-fuzziness) also increases...my ability to remember my fuzzy crappy dreams came naturally...for me the battle has been un-fuzzying my dreams...

as for shared dreams, many people believe that lucid dreams (or atleast some) are actually your essence (or whatever you wanna call it) goes to the astral plane...thus if 2 people go to the astral plane and meet up...you get the point...really its not a proven practice or anything, but like many other things, its simply how you perceive reality to be...pretty much same thing goes for OBE

sometimes my dreams end, just because i wake up, and i cant help it...forcibly as you put it...but many other times i wake myself up...in part because while im dreaming time seems to move much much slower, so im always afraid of oversleeping, and wake myself up like every half hour...sometimes i can try to stay in a dream...sometimes it works, sometimes it deosnt...

For me, after a while, they generally just fade away, or some thing from the waking world wakes me(generally alarm clock)

      Wrong topic Truth...

MILD and WILD are explained by the Tutorial section of this forum. Or the Dreamviews website itself.

No, its the correct one. I just brought that quote over from the other thread because he did exactly what was telling the other guy no to do. He was pretty vague himself...

You know your amazingly small text appears as normally readable on my screen, Truth.

      Welcome to the forums.

OOBE= Out of body experince, the seperation of your astral body from your physical body and taking control of it. [plug]Refer to my links compilation for more information[/plug] or do a search for it. I have placed the two most comprehensive Astral Guides in my [plug]links compilation[/plug]. I haven't updated the one on tutorials, check the one in general discussion.

Nah, don't worry about me. I just found it stange that he would critizise somebody else and then go ahead and do the same thing himself...
