Post

I found this site from a lerning japanese forum

I have a question to ask;

Was this a lucid dream ?;

I was in my bed, and was asleep, but i had my eyes open as i could see the top bunk of my bed (double bunk bed). I was dreaming i was on a rollercoaster , and i knew it was a dream, that it wasn't real. I knew i could just end this dream or keep it going, i decided to keep it going.
P.S. I couldn't move or anything.

Yup, you had a lucid dream!

A lucid dream is simply defined as knowing you are dreaming. Please go through the tutorials and the rest of the forum to answer the most frequently asked questions.

Welcome to the forum, and glad to have you aboard!

Yup, you were likely dreaming that you had your eyes open and that you were lying in bed when really you had your eyes closed.

P.S. I couldn't move or anything[/b]
That would be sleep paralysis - your brain shutting down your body so you don't act out or move while you dream. Completely normal.

I'm so proud
Lucid Dreams are so cool

-----

I have had another wierd sensation however.
It's happened twice,
I feel like i am half-asleep, my eyes are open (looking at my bed again), but i am not dreaming of anything, i just get these REALLY REALLY strong surges of anger , like I wanna kill somebody
It creeps me out, anyone know what that is ?

Hmm... you forgetting to take your medication, maybe?

Nah, it's common for people to hear things or see hallucinations during sleep paralysis. Usually these hallucinations are very scary in nature. You may not remember, but it's possible you were very frightened or in a frightened state of mind, which would naturally make you defensive and (if threatened) violent.

That's just my guess, though.

congratulations on your first lucid dream!
If you check out the tutorials, you'll find many suggestions on having them more frequently, improving recall and prolonging them.
good luck, and feel free to PM any dreamguide if you have any questions.

thanks for the warm welcomes

One more question - Does the Brain Wave Generator software actually help you to relax ? Does it really work ?

First of: Welcome to Dream Views

The BWG works for everyone however, if you keep your focus on something, while the program is slowing down your brainwaves, you'll most likely end up with a temproary head-ache, that lasts like 2 minutes or so. I also recommend the head-ache treatment builtin. I've used it a few times, and it works everytime.

You just listen to it and it changes your brain waves(correct me if i am wrong). It makes you sleepy etc.

Ok, firstly, please use correct spelling and grammar. Nobody likes to have to read a post 5 times befoer understanding it.

The 'brain wave generator' you're talking about is a brainwave entrainment device that coaxes your brain into operating on a certain frequency. This frequency determines your state of mind, and can be put to use somewhat for dreaming, though it does not have much of an effect. It isn't a quick fix.

As for recall, you need to keep a dream journal and write everything down properly and in a manner in which it can be reasonably understood later. Other than that, its practice with WBTB and MILD that will help you the most.

I am from South Africa

All the tutorials are grouped together - you just need to go down the list and find what you're looking for. Here's the dream recall tutorial, though.

Oh damn, its been a while since i was last here, my dream recall, is only down to 1 a night .remembered 3 last night though.
Dont seem to be doing well, could this be caused by the fact that I am very worried about an important person in my life ?

I've found that being worried affects DR. Your mind automatically thinks "Oh no! I need to think, no use remembering your dreams, THIS is important." Maybe that's why..
