I want to incur lucid dreams upon myself, but I don't feel like writing them all down because I can't remember them (Well I did kind of piece one together fromt he other night).

Is there something else besides writing it down and 300 dollar LCD light goggles?

You don't have to write down every thing. Just make some notes like a freinds name or location or an object that occurs in you dreams often. When you see any of this things do an reality check. Eventually you will start to do reality checks in your dream and your on your way to lucid dreaming.

Yes, as doc said, you don't have to remember them. Just write anything that you do remember down, even if it is just a fragment. You have to really work hard to accomplish your goals; dedication to the project is definately key. Just try it. Your success will skyrocket. Also, welcome to the forum! I hope you have a great time, here.

I would try Reality Checks. I have a friend who whenever he looks at a clock looks away and then back again (in a dream the time will change between glances) even when he's awake. This gets it into his brain so when he is alsleep, he can tell. Other good Reality Checks are pinching your nose and trying to breath through it, trying the impossible (e.g. sticking your fingers through your arm) and pinching yourself.
Also, question what you see as habit. In a dream you may accept (for example) flying cars as normal. Looking out for the illogical or impossible in real life will incourage you to do it in dreams. It's also good practice anyway.

      Good luck!

Whenever I am dreaming though, I can never realize anything let alone performing a reality check.

This may be true but if you do somthing enough in real waking life then it will transfer over to your dream world.

like if every time you saw a red car you did a reality check then eventually in your dreams you will do a reality check if you saw a red car and this could trigger a lucid dream.

This is a good point. Reality checks don't help me so much. Telling myself that I am lucid throughout the day helps me to become lucid, as I just 'know' I am. Try something like that. Something will click eventually.

Oh, yes, i've experienced the same thing. I've got a chime watch and I do a whole battery of reality checks on the hour. But then I have my first lucid, and lo and behold, I don't do a reality check to become lucid, I just know that I am. It happened when I changed 'dream scenes' or whatever. Still, maybe reality check do help with realising you're dreaming, but indirectly.

one of the problems i have when i do reality checks is when i go to check like words part of my is conviced they will be the same words but the other part is saying :since i am convinced they are the same they will be the same: so i what i do befor i do a reality check is a think of somthing like a digital clock i think of what the time was last and then i guess what time it is now and if is i proceed to a complex reality check.

Umm... sorry? I think I get what you're saying. Reality checks sometimes can't tell you when you're dreaming or not. I've got a friend who looks at the time and the time stays the same, whereas most tutorials on reality checks tell you that it should be changing or flashing. Maybe because you expect that you are awake you change reality to suit your reality check?
