Would this be worth getting, or is it just a ripoff of things that I will just learn elsewhere for free? Opinions appreciated.

It's kind of a lot to read through, so here is what is included in the kit:

      "Lucid Dreaming in Seven Days!"
-- The only book in the world that guarantees success in under a week

      Audio Stimulation CD
-- The ULTIMATE lucid dreaming accessory, with binaural beats, reality prompts & more!

      My Dream Log
-- Exclusive dream diary software, with password-protection and special searching features

      Reality Prompter
-- Messenger-style software tool that provides random reality prompts throughout the day

      Lucid Dreaming Screensaver
-- Admire the stunning dreamscapes and uncover the hidden messages

First look at amazon.com to see if people think the book is good. The book seems like the only thing that would really help you. Its not hard to do reality checks throughout the day, you could just get a watch that rings every hours and then do it then. This website has a dream journal and other websites have software that you can download for free, so i wouldn't bother with the kit but if people on amazon think the book is effective then you might consider just buying that seperately. Oh and also, Phonelai has thankfully made this thread so you can get audio helpful to Lucid Dreaming as well. Check it out: http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/inde...howtopic=22467

The bottom four things included, that you listed, are available for free, in some form, all over the place - even software that pops up every now and then on your screen and gives you messages that you can edit yourself - so anything they are charging to use those tools is probably not worth it.

But, most telling is the "Master It In 7 Days, Guaranteed" thing.

Lucid dreaming is a process that is a mixture between psychology and psychophysiology. There are many different factors that take part in whether or not a person will be able to experience a lucid dream at any given time - sleeping habits -sleep disorders - stress levels - doubt - anticipation - expectation - confidence, etc.

Because of this, anything that tells you they can guarantee that anyone will have a lucid dream in 7 days is, if you ask me, pretty much bunk.

I have come across a couple of these kits. Mostly they seem to capitalise on the 'new age' type feel, including aromatherapy oils, or a 'never fail, 7 days' type method.

You've got to remember that these people a trying to run a business here. They have no real interest in explroing lucid dreaming, they have just got to put together a realistic sounding package convincing enough that you will buy it. No offense meant, but these packages seem to be aimed at people who are new to the idea of lucid dreaming. They use a style of advertising similar to 'REVOLUTIONARY CREAM THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!!!!' instead of a scientific viewpoint, which makes me think that they aren't really serious about teaching people.

My advice would be to stick around on the forums and talk to the more experienced members. You'll be able to get advice on your own experiences, and you'll learn much more that you could gain from any 'secret method'.

Yea, I wasn't really referring to the "learn in 7 days" thing, because that screams bullshit to me as well. I was just wondering if the things in the kit would be of any use to me, or if it was worth buying it at all.

If I were you, I definately wouldn't spend almost 60 dollars on something that is a big hit or miss. It isn't proven to work, and even if it was, it might in your best interests to learn on your own. The disipline that comes of learning to lucid dream is priceless, especially if you are self taught. Also, you can get the same benefits of lucid dreaming learning on your own for free that you can get with the product. Really, it's your decision. As others have said, research it. Find customer reviews and such, and make an educated decision. You never know, it may be worth it..

Well... I', sure the kit would help you somehow, but it really isn't worth the $60. You can do lucid dreaming for free if you keep trying.

      SCAM

Every single thing that site offers is available for free on the net, and on top of that, just read the damn site. It's just a stupid scam where they package a whole bunch of boderline useful free stuff into a box and sell it at an extortionate price along with some fancy packaging...
