      Hi,
I've kind of made this post already but I think it was in the wrong forum.

Basically, (and quicker than last time) what would be the effects of being able to get to a lucid state with a sleep disorder...One that makes it harder for me to fall asleep and hard to wake up.

      Will it be easier/harder etc?
The disorder i'm specifically refering to is called delayed sleep phase syndrome...I have had a couple of lucid dreams over this year and thats why I ask...i obviously can still atain a lucid state but there has been no method to this and it has all happened without my trying...Now, having tried methods i have had no luck

I have difficulty falling asleep some(40-50%) nights, taking 1 hour or more. I have actually found that attempting WILD REDUCES the amount of time it takes me to fall asleep. Unless I get really close and fail... that gives me worse insomnia cause I get frustrated. An important question to pose here would be:
Let's say you woke up in the middle of the night. Would you have difficulty getting back to sleep?
If so that might hamper you, at least Wake Back to Bed wise... Yet there are SO many methods to try... there seems to be something for everyone. You say you have tried methods and had no luck. How long have you been trying? Also how is your dream recall? Reality checks would be a good thing for you to try I think. Since they are not dependant really on anything sleep related, if you can train yourself to do them often, it'll definitely help.

I've only been trying for a little while, however I've had plenty of experiences it's just taken me a while to make sense of them and realize i can bring them upon myself and controll them more. I can recall a re-occurring nightmare i used to have as a young child of...i don't know but it was within my fisrt 5 years and I began getting used to this nightmare that eventually it was a reality check on its own (not thta baby me knew any of this) once the dream began i would immediately start telling myself to get out of the car (the dream was about a car driving off with me in it while my mother had just gone to the supermarket) and the more i had this dream the closer i would come to getting out. One day (and for the last time) i escaped...YAY I dreamed the nightmare away, as soon as i could controll the dream and escape i did and i was not able to realize that untill recently...i always just thought the dream used to be slightly different everytime but i can assure you that it was all me.

That being said...i have a slight fear of lucid dreaming during the week due to being bad at falling asleep but worse at waking and i have a new job.

Yes, the recent (possible) LD i had was from a wbtb method however i didn't know i was doing that and i only woke up briefly...say 5 10 minutes.
I didn't even get out of bed, it was about 3 in the morning and i woke up wioth a start, looked around my room, realized i didn't have to go to work and that it was still night time and rolled back over and dreamed

On dreamscapes i'm not exactly sure what you mean but on my reality checks i've begun looking at my hand as often as posible and telling myself, 'later when i'm dreaming, i will look at my hand again and realize i am dreaming'. I think this will work for me yet the weekends are the only chance i get to feel comfortable lucid dreaming which is going to bring on other probles due to the fact that i'll probably have a couple of driniks over the weekend which i don't think will help.

      *Points at Ethan Sanchez.*

      I like you.

You'd be suprised... Some people actually get longer, vivid dreams when they're drunk.

Dunno though, it's different for everyone.

Some people have had poor recall because of alcohol, too, so I guess it depends on the type of person you are. I just thought I would mention that. I don't know much about sleep disorders, so I don't want to say something that I don't know is true or not.

      See you around, Ethan

Maybe I'm just an Oddball, but no matter how well it goes, Attempting to WILD kills almost any chance of me sleeping for at least 2 hours.

Well.. for me... I've attempted WILD 8 times. Of those:
4 I fell asleep inadvertenly... once I woke up two hours later like "Oh wait... DAMN!"
The other 4 I reached sleep paralysis. Only one time (the very first) did it cause me to lose sleep. Well... that isn't entirely true... one other time I lost like 4 hours... but I think that was more vitamin B6 related than WILD related...

Note: Of my 8 attempts, only 5 have been serious... the other were more like "Oh wow... hypnagogic stuff... let's try to WILD.... zzzZZzzzZZZzz"
