      Question

Ok I actually didn't know what "lucid dreaming" was called until I started researching the topic to explain some dreams that I had previously had. It was actually pretty funny reading through the instruction section of this web site and noticing things that were mentioned that I had already experienced.

Well the question I have is in regard to one of the dreams I had about a year and a half ago.

I was in a dark looking... town I guess you'd call it, looked like those towns in Mad Max style flicks. I was walking with someone and though I couldn't see their face I had a comforting feeling that it was a person I refer to as Sara. Sara isn't actually someone I, to the best of my knowledge, have ever met in my waking life but she has shown up in each of the few lucid dreams I have had.

The strange thing was that I knew I was dreaming and I could see both through my eyes but also as if from a camera suspended above as well.

After a little while I started seeing through a third set of "eyes" that showed me sleeping in my bed. I could also feel myself sleeping in my bed. The way that I saw me sleeping in my bed was with my head toward the foot board whereas in reality (and the way I felt myself sleeping) was with my head toward the head board.

I could see a shadow looming over me in my "bedroom" and I decided to try to calm the dream down by waking up. I physically could manage to wake up but when I physically would wake up I felt like I was being drug back in to the dream and couldn't keep my eyes open. Every time my eyes would re-close I would see myself in my bedroom again and sleeping backward.

This gave me a physical sensation of being twisted in 180 degree motions every time I opened/closed my eyes and made me feel kind of nautious.

Has anyone ever had a similar experience and if so what is your insight into what may have been going on and how can I better handle the situation if it happens again?

      First, Welcome!!!!

I have never encountered anything like that before, but would like to!
Sounds really interesting, why is it that you do not want it to happen again?
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

Well it isn't that I don't want it to happen again. I'd just like to be prepared to disect the situation and understand what is happening if I'm ever in that position again hehe.

      Hallo!

Dark form leaning over you while sleeping? That sounds creepy...

I heard of a story from someone who gave up OBEs because a dark form rushed for his body when he was out of it. Your dream just reminded me of that.

The "dark form" that was in the room with me didn't seem threatening and didn't make me feel like I was at risk at all. I've had the feeling that maybe if there is any truth to the theory that we can touch each other's dreams perhaps this "form" was a much more proficient dreamer than I, saw me stumbling around clumsily, and came by to watch. Maybe for the sport/amusement of it, maybe to make sure I didn't freak out. Who knows if any of that is really possible though hehe. Either way I don't think it was anything "menacing".

hehe if what your saying is possibly true, your theory at least, then the story squall heard is just some other proficient dreamer trying to scare the crap out of some other novice obe dreamer hehe

anyway, connecting dreams is 'dreamscaping' if I remember correctly? Who knows if its real or not, but it would be cool.

we've been trying to dreamscape 'round here for some time, and are, for the most part, unsuccessful in doing so...this Sara you mentioned sounds like your dream guide...ive found that largely, by and by, your subconcious mind seems to enjoy playing tricks on your concious mind in your dreams...by that i mean experiences like this...my subconcious is thoroughly annoying, and if i didnt need it to continue living, i'd gladly kill it...i dunno how much of this is true tho...jus seems that way to me

Actually I agree with you, that's what I'd considered Sara to be. Largely my reasons for wanting to be able to fully achieve a lucid state again is to try to figure out if I can get any info out of her.

May sound hoaky but I believe that if she is my subconsious and I can question her then I might better understand what is going on in my subconsious and use the information to better myself in the waking world.

Again, may sound hoaky, but the first time I went lucid she was at the end of the dream and she held out an ashtray that morphed in to a yellow candle with a blue eye on it, said something along the lines of, "I am the key," and disappeared. I've been looking for the candles/similar blue eyes or anything that looks similar as a trigger since but haven't seen anything like it in any of the other LD's I've experienced.

That would be great to learn to dreamscape, I think a lot could be accomplished if it were possible.

Yeah, I'm hesitant to try obe after hearding that.

None of that sounds hoaky bedlam. A lot of people feel that their subconcious is an integral part of their livehood.

And as for Werburn. Go ahead and kill your subconcious! Just tell me what gender it is.

Wasn't there a new person earlier this week who had this same sort of dream with the dark form? Does anyone remember who that guy was?

I think you're going insane. Your sister is kicking your ass too many times in LD's...hit your head too many times, eh?
