Ok I actually didn't know what "lucid dreaming" was called until I started researching the topic to explain some dreams that I had previously had. It was actually pretty funny reading through the instruction section of this web site and noticing things that were mentioned that I had already experienced.
Well the question I have is in regard to one of the dreams I had about a year and a half ago.
I was in a dark looking... town I guess you'd call it, looked like those towns in Mad Max style flicks. I was walking with someone and though I couldn't see their face I had a comforting feeling that it was a person I refer to as Sara. Sara isn't actually someone I, to the best of my knowledge, have ever met in my waking life but she has shown up in each of the few lucid dreams I have had.
The strange thing was that I knew I was dreaming and I could see both through my eyes but also as if from a camera suspended above as well.
After a little while I started seeing through a third set of "eyes" that showed me sleeping in my bed. I could also feel myself sleeping in my bed. The way that I saw me sleeping in my bed was with my head toward the foot board whereas in reality (and the way I felt myself sleeping) was with my head toward the head board.
I could see a shadow looming over me in my "bedroom" and I decided to try to calm the dream down by waking up. I physically could manage to wake up but when I physically would wake up I felt like I was being drug back in to the dream and couldn't keep my eyes open. Every time my eyes would re-close I would see myself in my bedroom again and sleeping backward.
This gave me a physical sensation of being twisted in 180 degree motions every time I opened/closed my eyes and made me feel kind of nautious.
Has anyone ever had a similar experience and if so what is your insight into what may have been going on and how can I better handle the situation if it happens again?
