      Greetings,

My name is Wolfie and I can't remember when I first had a lucid dream. My dreams have always been clear, always been in colour and I can remember them pretty easily. At first, I didn't know I could change my dreams so I used the control to wake myself up from nightmares. I'm slow, but learning and pretty curious about the whole thing.

Aside from dreams: I'm female and I live in the middle of nowhere (Scotland). I like reading, writing and lie-ins. Pleased to meet you all!

      Wolfie.

      Hello!
You started using dream control in exactley the same way I did, I moved onto changing the dreams instead of stopping them pretty quickly, that's where the fun starts.

(told you I'd get first post)

And if you look at your reflection
Is it all you want it to be?"

      Welcome to Dream Views Wolfie

Many people get into lucid dreaming, the way you got. First of, they don't really realize the things they can do in dreams, but later they check out stuff like "Aware I am dreaming" in a search engine, and they find the word "lucid".

I heard about lucid dreaming, when I was reading some science magazine. I've always had the idea, that controlling dreams should be possible, though I never thought I'd be able to do anything I want. However, I didn't really find it that interesting, and the science magazine didn't really promote it as something you'd like to put any effort into. Even though, I decided that by the next summervacation, I would try to learn this abillity, and yeah, here I am

      Once again

Lost count of how many lucid dreams I've had

OMG don't say that! Scotland isn't the middle of nowhere! I lurrrrrve Scotland. Where you from, exactly?

I'm from NZ. THATS the middle of nowhere.

And yay, congrats on the natural recall and vividity. I wish I had that, I really, REALLY have to work on my dreaming to get results.

I live on an island that even the inhabitants don't know where it is (not saying where, I'm too paranoid. no offense). Oh, and about the recall, I have been having difficulty remembering my dreams clearly lately. Ive no idea why. I just get flashes or images of stuff that happened in them. It sucks.

Hmmm... you been keeping a dream journal? I find that usually when I'm not getting enough sleep, or when my sleep schedule is uneven, my recall suffers too. Why do you think yours has?

Hmmm... try waking up in your REM and going over your dream again, tracing it back. I find that I sometimes only remember half of my dream, and then I remember more as I 'retrace my steps'. However, it never happens with lucids! Meanie is right, you'll need a journal, and try some MILD to enhance it as well

I win the 'middle of nowhere' competition. I live in South Africa. Actually southern tip of Africa, really. Did you know that's one of the farthest places to be from a 1st world country? Unless anyone here lives at the south pole....

      I am from South Africa

I've tried that, it seems to work.

Awww. I thought Orkney was remote. Well, congrats on winning.

p.s. oh, and what are MILD and WILD?

If you check the "Tutorials" section of the forum, there's lots of info there on WILD and MILD. But, the guts of it is:

MILD is inducing a dream mneumonically, basically like repeating to yourself "I will see a dreamsign and realise i'm dreaming" and other techniques. WILD is a wholly different beast. Basically, WILD is falling asleep while retaining consciousness, basically falling asleep and going into a dream while being fully conscious and aware. It sounds kinda weird, I know, but, it's a one-of-a-kind experience, and totally worth the effort.

Also, it might help to mention that though WILD looks great beacuse it seems like you get an instant result and you don't have to do much work, in practice it is almost impossible, stick with MILD and WBTB
